I am so very glad to be a gamer right now. So are they two separate collections or do they come as a single package thingy?
Judging from the box art of MGS collection, the game collections are separate.

Crud, that's probably going to make it more difficult to buy both of them. But I will find a way.

I love this, I've never gotten to play any of the MEtal Gear games, and now I'll finally have the chance to on my 360. :D

I have ZOE 1 & 2, but a high-resolution version sounds good,
and more importantly, I want them to make Zone Of the Enders 3 so I guess I'll have to vote with my wallet.
Yet another PS2 HD collection to add to my list (still haven't played God of War).

Actually, this is really great for me personally. The only MGS game I own is a copy of the ancient Twin Snakes remake for the Gamecube, and I don't even have a PSP (or intend to get one for one game). Maybe I'll get MGS4 at some point, but I'll wait until I've played this.

Also I've heared good things about ZOE but I've never actually gotten or played it, so that's a nice bonus.

Where are the first games in the Silent Hill and Metal Gear series? ¬¬
That aside, I'm excited for more ZotE, and HD anything is always a plus.

But as happy as I am to hear this, it's kind of difficult to sit down and play through the entire series when the first will be MIA. Of course I can download them from PSN, bu-bu-but I dun wanna! Wonder why they're both MIA though, obviously there could be a good reason for it, possibly a great one? *crosses fingers*

I'm guessing the reason it doesn't have MGS1 can be described like this; let's see you try plugging your wireless controller into the player 2 port.

I find it odd that the MGS collection doesn't have MGS1, if I read that right, but it's still cool.
Very odd indeed, especially considering it's the best game in the entirety of the IP. I mean, I'll more than likely still pick this up (all this nonsense about "transfarring" aside) simply because 2 and 3 were great games, but it's still disappointing that there won't even be just a direct port of MGS1 on the disc.

Do NOT even suggest Metal Gear on Nintendo was. Not even as a joke.
Fuck those dogs. And the trucks. That game can die in a fire. That will cause it to be erased from memory.

Seriously, though? "Transfarring"? This is a joke, right?

That's like daring people to make phone calls on their wireless phones.

On the other hand, if you only had one controller...that'd be a bit of a game-breaker.

Would be perfect if it included a HD remaster of MGS: Twin Snakes.
That would be sweet, but legally it would be a nightmare, seeing as it was co-developed with Silicon Knights, who were a second party of Nintendo at the time. Probably some exclusivity business going on too.

Actually now that I think about it, I prefer playing the original version anyway. Maybe it's nostalgia, or maybe it's the fact that the new controls utterly break the game when the level design is unchanged.
