Is it a fighting game? Again, Xbox because of the controller.
Really? I thought the General consensus was that the Xbox D-pad was terrible for fighting games.
Believe it or not, I feel really comfortable using the stick.
Oh I certainly believe you, I've never played a fighting game on 360 as I'm PlayStation born and bred, but I'm a member of a few fighting game forums and plenty of threads pop up asking about aftermarket 360 controllers that are better suited to fighting games.

I have a PC and an Xbox 360. Xbox for exclusives, and multiplatforms. PC for PC exclusives and smaller games. I'm having some problems with it and am not that good with computers so I try to keep it limited.

I buy all multi-platform games on the Xbox 360 and use my PS3 for exclusives and Blu-Ray. I prefer the Xbox overall but the PS3 has some damn good exclusives. Most of my friends are on Xbox as well so that's another reason I buy multi-platform games on the 360.
Not to mention the 360's non-Kinect exclusives are getting fewer.

My big determination is what my friends play. Most of my friends have 360s, so I buy most of my games for the XBox 360. Most of my friends do NOT have a PS3, so I use it mostly for exclusives and BD. I do love some of the Playstation store's deals, though. Got Burnout Paradise plus all the expansions for about the cost of one expansion on XBLM.

To me, it always seems like one of them is doing it right and the other is doing it wrong. I just wish I could get all the "right" stuff on one console, but since you can't....

Easy. I already have a PC, therefore a PS3 is the logical choice for my second console. Anything that isn't on either of those platforms (which isn't much) is irrelevant.
This. Between PC games and PS3, there is literally NOTHING the Xbox 360 offers that I could possibly want. I know there are 360 exclusives that I don't get access to. But, that only matters if I care about those exclusives... which I don't.

Truth be told, though... save for Blizzard and Valve games, I do the vast majority of my gaming on my PS3 these days. I grow weary of PC gaming.

If I can't get it for XBox or if it's multiplayer (that I'm going to play) then I get it for PC.

Other than that I don't gunk up my harddrive with stuff I can play on the 360.

Well, first I had PS3 and we skipped merrily along until I discovered Mass Effect and debated for about two months, whether or not to buy an Xbox. I did.

So far it's been fair. I've been playing my Xbox more because I'm re-doing my ME playthroughs, but here is how it goes:

PS3:
Games with high quality graphics

Xbox:
FPS/ Shooters

I hate having more then one disk for a game, so if I know that the games going to be long or have high quality graphics my PS3 gets the game. I love the Xbox controller's triggers so it's mainly used for shooters.

Other then that, it's usually games that are exclusive or I've already bought for the system. Assassin's Creed goes to PS3, Mass Effect goes to Xbox, COD is split between them and then I just get games that are available to whatever system.

Usually multi-platform games are better on xbox, so that's why I buy most of my games for it. I buy exclusives and blu-rays for my PS3.

Now i own a wii and when nintendo whent all in with the big titles like mario and metroid, i grew bored, and moved to 360, which was a bomb for me cuase of noobs/epic moments. Only looked back in recent months since perment lag set in.

I pretty much work the same way as you, OP. Most of my PS3 library is exclusives, because I got my 360 first.

I do it mostly because if its a franchise I started on the Xbox, I want to continue it on the same console. This ended up coming to bite me in the ass when Dead Space 2 came out, but I don't have the Move so I figure its no real loss.
If its a new franchise, however, I usually put time into thinking which console I'd rather play it on.

I bought Final Fantasy XIII for the PS3 because it was made for PS3 and playing it on the Xbox would just feel... wrong.
I also save all fighting games for the PS3, but that's more because I've got a friend who's WAY into fighting games but he only has a PS3.
Multi-platform shooters will probably always go to the Xbox, though, because I just can't stand the PS3's triggers (Portal 2 being the only exception).
Multiplayer-heavy games usually go to the Xbox too, because my friends list is bigger on the Xbox than the PS3.

I try not to buy any games for my PC, because it's a hunk of crap. Only MMOs and TF2.

I'll start with saying I'm not an Xbox fanboy, I'm a Sony Hater for THIS generation. Hopefully they learned their lesson about you don't get to over charge me for a system and as a result I only buy PS3 exclusives for my PS3. Pretty much everything goes to the 360. The Wii is exclusively for things that are most fun with a party of four waving around wildly, which frankly is much more often than people like to admit. All the raving rabbids games for example are worth money, I personally wouldn't play Jepardy on any other system and there are a few other games like Endless Ocean that wouldn't be made for any other system (but I'd sure as fuck buy for another one if they were available.

I'm also a console kid, PC is for RTS, and MMO and that's just until someone makes an MMO for a console that doesn't suck. I doubt there will ever be a good console RTS, but being fair Pikmin IS an RTS and it's great it just doesn't have a vs mode so maybe it's not completely hopeless.

I buy most of my games for my 360 because then I can talk to all my friends. I use my PS3 for watching films mostly, blu-ray especially. I will also occasionally get exclusives and games which I will play on my own for immersion, or whatever. I use my PC for exclusives, games that I can only get on the computer, or that work better on my computer, E.g. Sims 3 and Civ games I like to play on my computer more than the console versions. Also, who's life would be complete without Minecraft?

If its single player, i'll get it for my Xbox so I can talk to my friends on Steam/Skype/MSN at the same time. If its multiplayer i'll usually get it for PC.

If its exclusive to PS3 and I find myself owning one, i'll get it for PS3, but that is the only reason.

I own a PS3 and a WII; PS3 for hardcore titles, Wii for party games and nintendo exclusives (Im a shameless nintendo fanboy)

I play the PS3 a lot more, simply because it has more quality games, but I wouldn't give up my Wii any time soon. As for the Xbox360? meh, it seems like most games are available for both systems, and the exclusives don't seem all that appealing to me.

Well, PS3 for my general purchase. Xbox only for the exclusives. (Like the upcoming Minecraft and that Tower Defense with the warrior and trolls and such. Forgot the name.)

I'm the same, only a PC and PS3. I mean really, what else would you need?

As far as consoles go.......

I buy nearly all multiplatform games for the 360 because 98% of the time the 360 version is more technically sound. You'll see higher framerates, less jaggies, less pop-in, less screen tearing and sometimes outright better graphics on the 360 version of multiplatform games. Strange that games like God of War 3 and Uncharted 2 look so good yet the PS3 gets the shaft for multiplats.

I also prefer the 360's controller (not into fighting games), achievements, and XBL tends to be a more lively place than the typically quite PSN.

I just buy for the PS3, the controller feels better and it has better graphics since the 360 is the family console and... I can't really explain it he did something where you can play it on any TV in the house but it only looks good on a certain TVs where he did something else... so I mainly just play my dad's games on that.

If it would play better with a mouse and keyboard (such as shooters) I get it for PC.
