I'm going to join in with all the people who said Gears 2. I got into the original Gears of War multiplayer probably more than any other game I can think of, and so naturally I was pumped for Gears 2. Yet there were a bunch of things that I just couldn't put up with - at first it was the crazy waits before you actually got a game, then it was how people would quit to preserve their level (when it was a 1-5 sort of thing), then throwing the game off. And then there was the whole not giving you an option to quit if you're in a match - really, did they think that was going to stop quitters? - making it take forever to quit and relaunch if your entire team has quit on you. Finally, and most annoying for me, was how after you complete a match the game makes you sit in the postgame lobby for 15-20 seconds before allowing you to enter matchmaking and search for another. Really? If I want to see my stats I'll stay, but sometimes you want to jump right in again. This wasn't a problem in the original, so why they did that is beyond me.
I had such high expectations for this game, so I was ridiculously disappointed. I'm just hoping that Gears 3 fixes those issues.
And like I read/heard somewhere before, if Gears 3 doesn't have an extensive (public) beta phase... I don't even know what to say.
