Gears of War 2.

Ruined everything there was of the series, dumbed down, made imbalanced, made boring, slow and laggy.

Gears of War 1 on account of lag and generally being terrible at it. I only started playing it online a few days before its sequel was released.

Any MMO there is for the reason everyone knows. But besides those:

Starcraft - Zerging may not be illegal but it's cheap and when everyone uses it just to win it gets boring fast.
GunZ - Korean style gameplay which involves players abusing graphical glitches within the game to pull off stunts they never could.
Black and White 2 - Lionhead's solution to improving online matches from the first game? Remove multiplayer entirely.
EVE Online - tl;dr the first five minutes I start the game? To Hell with that.
Warhammer: Dark Omen - The game was glorious, but it was so rare even back then you couldn't find anyone to play with anywhere.

Most other games had pretty generic reasons, such as people expecting you to be highly skilled when you start playing a game and rage on when you mess up. Mates, you too sucked at some point and you're not helping me get better at all, especially if the game can only be played online.

CoD:WaW because it wasn't CoD4. Still can't put my finger on it but CoD4 is miles better.
CoD2 because I (happily) moved onto CoD4.

Wolfenstien: Enemy Territory because I didn't play for awhile then it got overrun by mods, and bloody XP save servers.

Age of Empires 3 because my friends from that moved onto WoW...

CnC Generals because I was shit at it.

Battlefield 2 because the infantry weapons just wasn't satisfying enough, it didn't feel like I'd just forced lead through their mortal fleshy body, more id squirted them with my water pistol.

Blazblue:Calamity Trigger.
I was good at Super Smash Bros so i thought "I'm pro at fighting games!"
Then after I got my tail handed to me 100 times, while only winning 15 of 'em, I got pissed and traded it in.

L4D for me. Because I was bad at the game and im pretty sure 85% of all games I played were with hackers. and the other 10% were just public games with Assholes and kids who wound type the entire game in caps. So Evan if he meant he was talking it would seem like he was yelling. and the 2% the other team Sucked so bad that they just Raged quit and the other 6% Asshole would come on and just start Playing really annoying music\sounds and the other 2% is acctually a Good game with all my Steam buddies.
and this hust happens all the. internet connection.... sucks.

I'm going to join in with all the people who said Gears 2. I got into the original Gears of War multiplayer probably more than any other game I can think of, and so naturally I was pumped for Gears 2. Yet there were a bunch of things that I just couldn't put up with - at first it was the crazy waits before you actually got a game, then it was how people would quit to preserve their level (when it was a 1-5 sort of thing), then throwing the game off. And then there was the whole not giving you an option to quit if you're in a match - really, did they think that was going to stop quitters? - making it take forever to quit and relaunch if your entire team has quit on you. Finally, and most annoying for me, was how after you complete a match the game makes you sit in the postgame lobby for 15-20 seconds before allowing you to enter matchmaking and search for another. Really? If I want to see my stats I'll stay, but sometimes you want to jump right in again. This wasn't a problem in the original, so why they did that is beyond me.

I had such high expectations for this game, so I was ridiculously disappointed. I'm just hoping that Gears 3 fixes those issues.

And like I read/heard somewhere before, if Gears 3 doesn't have an extensive (public) beta phase... I don't even know what to say.

Cod world at war I really couldn't get into it and kept moaning about why they had to go back to ww2, although I picked it up recently and can't stop playing it now

Mine's Gears of War 2's main multiplayer. After I played it for a week or two, I felt that some players, not all, play it because it made them feel more like a man (the violence loving male stereotype). I know that the game's players all don't play for that reason, but when I played I felt that they played for that reason. I still like the idea of Horde, though.
