Well, for fighting games, I just mash all the buttons and hope for the best. So I really couldn't tell you there.

In COD, I'm the reason why people can have positive K/D ratios.

In Bad Company 2, I'm good... as long as I'm not killing anything, but otherwise I'm an excellent spotter, medic, repairman, dart tagger, and blowing holes through walls...guy. That's probably the reason I love it so much, I can be good helping out my team. =)

nah man, everyone just has there little things they need to tweek out, its just finding the right games to play or maybe just more practice. Or, perhaps you just have bad-luck. For instance, I can beat ANY of my friends in any Tekken/Mortal Kombat games or any RTS, yet I get my ass frequently handed to me by them in any FPS, regardless of the fact that i play them more then them

I remember I had to work hard when playing Halo 3 multiplayer, but after that, Call of Duty and Battlefield came easy to me. I think I currently have a little bit over 1 for a K/D ratio in all of them, and I'm fine with that. No need to make the game less fun for everyone else, just more fun for me.

Havent played too many mp games that werent FPS, but I usually have a high death ratio, but this is only in MW2, which has to the worst mp game I ever played, as theres always half a dozen people who are using the prick perks (Marathon,Lightweight,Commando). And those fuckers using akimbo Model 1887s. But in a game like BC2, alot of it is my fault for rushing in and not being careful. Ive gotten quite good at BC2, but I constantly fail to get better at MW2, no matter how long I play.

Hilariously inconsistent. In call of duty I'm flat out awful. I don't have the sense to check my surroundings, I get killed by snipers all the time, I might even lose if I get the drop on someone.

Heh, even on team fortress, which I've spent well over a thousand hours on, learning rocket jump techniques, changing my mouse settings to disable acceleration, all that jazz... And I can still end up playing distinctly average or below some days. Usually I'll be able to play pretty decently, even topping the boards, especially with the soldier or sniper, (though scout is my favourite), but if I don't play for about a week it's back to suckville.

For F-zero though, I'm pretty godly, and even after not playing it for a year I could whip all the master cups on my first or second try. Why does no one else play this game?

sigh...

I'm just mediocre as well. But then again, I don't really aim for being amazing, just to have fun. I usually clock in with about even kill-death at times, but sometimes I have a lucky stroke of capability and can do better than that.

I love how BC2 rewards those of us who may not have the fastest twitch but like to play as a team.

I pick up games quickly, but I top off quickly as well. I'm no good at shooters, but I easily best my friends after a couple hours of Mario Kart or Blur (neither of which I've played before then)

I can destroy any of my brothers or friends at fighting games, but that's because almost none of them play fighters anyway. My win rate online is 45% or so, slightly botched because I let my brothers play a bit. I did seem to reach a point where I could only win once every 5 to 10 matches though. I need to get XBL back...

All in all, I'm decent to great against friends but below par online.

You might like playing team fortress then. (assuming you've a pc that is)
Cover your inadequacies with team work! :D

God I love playing medic and just turning the entire tide of the battle without ever touching an enemy. It's my "I'm playing awful so I'll do something useful" class.

I usually hit the ceiling at a bit above average. Mostly I'm a quarter down from the top of the list. Sometimes I annihilate everyone in the game, but this is very rare. I never really play to be the best. I prefer UAVs and care packages over chopper gunners, that's more my playing style.

Ya, for fighting games, SF4 in particular , I thought I had hit my ceiling...but now I've finally found "my character" with Fei Long, and it's just so much fun to play as him and I'm actually getting pretty decent with him, so I might rise up a bit above that ceiling soon.

And I'm somewhat ok at TF2, but I am usually the best Heavy on my team.

I'm pretty good on everything. Except RTS games.

Every time I go against a human I get annihilated. Every, damn, time. No matter how long I practice, how hard I try, I just lose and lose completely.

And yet I love RTS games... Odd.

It can take me a while to figure out a game (depending on, you know stuff) but then I can get really good at a game like Gears of War (where I can average over 10 kills in a Warzone match), but due to lack of playing like a fucking camping noob in MW2 I never seem to get more than a 9-10 killstreak on a good day. Then of course there is everyones favorite pick-up-and-play shooter, Halo. I think I am the mid-range at this game where I can say I'm good, better than your average Halo player, can pwn noobs all day but there's nothing special going on, I don't go 25-0 on a lone wolves match, 25-15(-20) is more normal. Also I recently started playing CSS, being a console gamer my entire life I am complete shit and I know it. I usually get something like 5-100000000 depending on how I feel like playing today.

I can normally pick a game up really quickly and if I play nothing else I master it within a few weeks.

Except fighting games... I cannot get to grips with them.
Unless the game is lacing depth. I always find it frustrating how somone says they can master a game in a month. If you can become a pro if it so easy. free money for you.

I'm equally useless against my fellow man and AI. I hardly ever play multiplayer, though. I just don't see the point.

I'm the one that always gets a slow start but as soon as I have played a little and warmed up, I tend to be pretty good at games like MW2 and CoD4.

When it comes to RTS's, nah, I'm not good at those.
