I'm a pretty decent gamer. Both single and multiplayer. I can top the board on most matches online but if I'm in a bad mood or if there is an unnaturally good player on then I fail.
I've never seen that, a player's skill -which may be in some part transferable to a new game- is down to how much they play. You talk about 6 hours a week to maintain an average level of skill, that's fine and normal. I think what you don't realise is the thousands of hours that some of the other players put in, even if you consider someone who is an FPS gamer who has spent maybe 10,000 hours in his gaming life playing FPS, of course if he picks up a new fps game for an hour he's going to hand your butt to you, even though he's never played that particular game before.MiracleOfSound said:But then you see people who play these games maybe one hour a week pick it up and just annihilate everyone, their 'killer instinct' and reflexes just seem so much more tuned and faster.
Maybe go for the objectives then instead of getting high KLordmarkus said:I'm pretty much stunning at FPS's.
Love the fact that I can jump in at random TDM server on CoD 4 with my trusted MP5 and score around 80/30 but still don't win.
Yeah... I would never spend that long on a game lol. ;;IContinuity said:[
Seriously, to be consistently at the top of FPS score boards you need to spend a minimum of 1000hours on that game at at least 40 hours a week. - at that point you'll be a contender at least.
I think you must be assigning this arbitrary number to these "kids" psychologically to make yourself feel better.MiracleOfSound said:To be honest that's kind of a relief... at least I have an excuse for my averagenessColdStorage said:Killing 30 year olds online is part of their muscle memory now, much like trying to be good at Virtua Fighter 5 when its the first beat em up you've played, trying to be good at a shooter well I'm afraid to say your far too late to the party.but then how do these little 12 year olds run all over the place getting amazing games?
You've obviously never played KillZone, its really fucking hard, it makes MW2 look like a walk on a falling log.MiracleOfSound said:I'll forgive you for bragging on that one, as a 45 kill streak is impressive in any game!ColdStorage said:45 killstreak on KillZone 2.
Sorry but I gotta brag about that, KillZone is fucking hard.
Exactly, agreed. I play for the fun, I love the depth of games like Fallout 3, but I like the ultimately shallow, but overall enjoyable passive online shooting fun in any current gen COD or Battlefield.DenSomKastade said:I play for fun, don't really care about the results. Most of the time it goes good.
