Main stream hip-hop bugs the living hell out of me. Not all hip-hop mind you but mainstream (T.I, 50 Cent, etc) are terrible.

I'm actually not too big on metal from the 90's: Metallica, Judas Priest, and stuff just never really appealed to me. I love me some metal oldies, though.

Country, Metallica (mostly because of who they are as people), and SPECIFICALLY gangster rap.

I'll listen to, usually enjoy, or at least tolerate, everything else.

Even Jazz! :p

But seriously folks, before you bash Rap, at least understand the genre as a whole :p. There are some fantastically talented individuals out there.

I'd say the same about Country but as my grandfather would say "Country as a whole has changed from a fine bowl of grits into a steaming pile of shits."

I like every genre to an extent... Like there's a point it gets to that I just can't stand.

Metal: when you can't understand the lyrics and it turns into power chord mashing
Rap: when the beat is just repetitive, boring and when the rappers just swear non-stop
Pop: when it's Britney spears or Miley Cyrus or Jonas Brothers or High School Musical
Punk: when it turns emo and faggy or when tune sounds really crappy
Hip Hop & RnB: see "Rap"
Rock: see "Punk"

Everything not involving bagpipes
WUT!

You've obviously never heard bagpipers doing video game tunes from the NES era. It will blow your mind :p.

Course otherwise I kind of agree.

I hate scremo because you can't understand the lyrics, even if you could it's always whingy "My life is so hard" lyrics, dull instrument parts and then I could move on to the average persn who listens to scremo
I don't understand the hate towards country though
Sweet Home Alabama?
On The Road Again?
The Devil Went Down To Georgia?
Also Buckethead has alot of country playing in his work, so why do so many people dislike it?
Oh and also Indie, because it is so blad, dull and the lyrics are always so shallow

I enjoy a little bit of everything. Every genre has something, you just have to weed out the garbage.

music, like any media, suffers from sturgeon's law.

Industrial. I know it's not big anymore, but when it came out I like it for about four minutes, then I realized it was probably meant for people on certain types of...um, medicines(?) to enjoy.

I would say Disney but that Isn't music.
That'd have to be a fucked beat for a three hits like that to fit in, and with such sudden rhymes?

I don't think you know what your talking about.

Listen to some Optimus Rhyme, learn some awesome Hip-Hop/Nerdcore

I don't much care for old hair metal or anything scene.
I can stand old rap, very few country songs, and all kinds of other things.
I'm a fan of Heavy metal, Techno, Classical, folk music, blue grass, J-rock and so on and so forth.

I can't stand a lot of mainstream modern rap. It's pretty much a beat with a euphemism for sex repeated a thousand times with bowel-voiding levels of bass. Ick.

I HATE rap/hip-hop, and pop.

Rap/hip-hop seems talentless to me. Seriously... Most of the 'poetry' is just plain bad, and I have to ask. Can any of them actually SING? I don't mean follow a rhythm, I mean carry a tune/hold a note. I also know for a fact that most of the background music involved are just remixed loops from a program like Reason or Pro Tools. They don't even compose it!

All pop songs sound exactly the same to me, and I generally can't stand the personality of most of the 'artists.'

So many generalizations...
