Ambient music eg Solar Fields, Max Richter, Brian Eno, Aphex Twins and Goldmund pretty much removes all stress when I am listening to it.
Jazz and Prog Rock makes me think I can solve extremely hard maths equations or at least makes me go and pick up my bass and write stuff.
Drone music eg Sunn O))) and Earth I find extremly calming.
Atmospheric Black Metal eg Summoning, Drudkh, Agalloch, Negura Bunget, Evilfeast and Gris make feel exactly how the writer wants me to feel, imagining walking through Norwegian forests at midnight with fresh snow on the ground, the moonlight shining throught the branches with the outlines of mountains engulfing the horizon, probably the most tranquil feeling in the world, will have to go to Norway and go hiking one time and just listen to Burzum and Coldworld for hours.
Alcest and Les Discrets is just great for depressing nights (+1 if there is a thunderstorm), There is just a certain feeling you get from that style of Post-rock/Black Metal/Shoegaze.
Grindcore is good for getting the Adrenaline up.
The track Space Lion from the Cowboy Bebop OST (Jupiter Jazz outro) is probably the most depressing but at the same time uplifting song I have ever heard, so epic.
