I have only heard them played on one radio station and I have never seen them mentioned elsewhere.

Chiptune as a genre.

Even with the most hardcore of gamers, so many people just view it as only worthwhile for Nostalgia's sake.
I mean, yes, for most people it is an acquired taste, but after years of NES and Gameboy goodness, I would think people would find it more appealing.
Yes, even chipreggae

With most chiptune artists being hobbyists 'n such, its hard to find youtube videos for 'em.

OK, I think I'm done.
That was quite an anjoyable meandering of thought.

Grace Potter and The Nocturnals....My favorite modern day band.

They did the version of white rabbit that was in the Johnny Depp Alice in Wonderland Film.

and SHE was incharge of the soundtrack for Tangled (so you could say she likes Disney)

But here is the band rocking it out in Kentucky....

Voltaire and The Dresden Dolls. I only just discovered the Dolls from Amanda's part in the song Stuck With You. <youtube=_FNHM4WDE8E> So yeah I'd say any Voltaire fan should check out The Dresden Dolls and any Dresden Dolls fan should check out this song and Voltaire, and anyone who knows neither should check out both of them.

Reel Big Fish deserves alot more popularity than they have now but it's most likely due ska punk going out of style as a genre.

Opeth, Camel, Cormorant, Devin Townsend, God Is An Astronaut, Insomnium, Katatonia, Porcupine Tree, and Buckethead. Buckethead mainly since he has a bad rep as a shredder, and nothing else, when he has some super good soft music like this:

and Opeth since they're just too talented, and don't get enough recognition for it, same can be said of the rest in my list.

Nation of Uylsses, they were the loudest, fastest, and most complew band to come out of the hardcore seen. They also used jazz timings in a lot of their music.

Perhaps because they have outrageous vocals, a crazy eastern european/punk mashup style, and have deep and varied lyrical content? Not that I don't like it (quite the contrary,) but it wouldn't be a stretch to call them requiring a refined taste.

Chevelle. A million times over, Chevelle has some amazing riffs and deep, metaphorical lyrics that surpass the writing abilities of Maynard James Keenan.

As I respect your opinion, it is false. Maynard and Tool are waaaayyy better than Chevelle. But then again this is merely my own opinion so take it with a grain of salt. I'm also a fan of Chevelle, but Tool's lyrics and song meaning I feel are just way more intense and intelligent, if you will.

Any music that isn't in English. A general trend I've noticed is that in any country, they play music in the official language of that country and English, and not much else.

Rabbit Junk should be more popular. Yeah, it's not the most easily accessible music, but if you're in the right mood, it's some of the best stuff out there.

Alter Bridge. Beautiful lyrics, an amazing lead singer, and the guitarist, bassist, and drummer from Creed. They're slowly becoming more popular, but I'm surprised it's taken so long.

Chanting Music. Stuff like
and
and so I don't look like a complete Yuki Kajiura fanboy (which I am butirrelevant)
Music where voice is used for music instead of lyrics. Very rarely hear it outside of Yuki's work.

I am a huge Tool fan as well. I guess I need to listen to the lyrics more instead of focusing on the guitar. I'm not saying that Maynard is a terrible writer or anything, just that I've found Chevelle's lyrics to be more metaphorical.

Then again, I've probably run through the Vena Sera album more times than Lateralus. I can respect anyone's opinion, regardless of whether or not I can agree with it.
