No seriously, I actually understand why most people don't like classical and that it is in fact highly appreciated, even today.

Honestly, I don't keep up with much of today's music anymore, however I quite liked Europa by Globus and I immediately thought "Everyone needs to listen to this." Don't watch the video if you get emotional over war movies. Seriously, this video is brutal, but so true to the song.

bad religion and off spring are some of the most well known punk bands I know :s

OT:
one band I love is authority zero but nobody knows who they are I have yet to meet anybody whos even so much as heard of them but I think its mostly to do with the fact I live in Canada n they never play here

also Mum is awesome so chill I love there music

Renard Queenston. Probably the best electronic artist I've ever heard, and a lot of his songs are pretty popular on Youtube, but I've never actually met anyone in real life who listens to him or has ever heard of him even. It's quite strange ...

I'm going to sound like a broken record, but...Warpaint, Warpaint, Warpaint, Warpaint...oh, and Warpaint.

They are so brilliant, and it's insane how they are not as popular as they should be. They did play at Glastonbury though, and they are due to play at the Reading Festival very shortly, so how knows, maybe they will get the limelight they so deserve.

One thing's for sure though, they are Defiantly the strongest all female band of recent years.

Chromeo, relatively simple fun dance music that's also pretty inoffensive. I realize that they're not exactly unheard of but I would still think that they would be a bit more mainstream/popular than they currently are

Authority Zero is another favorite of mine. They're another group that are pretty well known regionally but, in general, people don't know them outside of the area. The only reason I found em was from Pandora.

I actually found them by accedent I was looking for revelution by the beatles and accedently downloaded revelution by authority zero. I listened to it thought it wasnt bad so I got some more of there stuff and never looked back love all there other music so much more than that song
