A Hermit's Cave

Anyway, now that that's out of the way, I was listening to a random playlist on my way back from work and I'm sure most people will have a bi- or multi-lingual taste in music (cue loads of people posting anime tracks, including me...), but there are a couple artists who sing in Russian, Italian and French whose songs I really enjoy... even though my French sucks, I can only read Italian (at best), and I don't understand a word of Russian (except the Russian for 'shit'). For Italian and Russian it stems from GitS:SAC, whose insert songs are just pure unadulterated awesome.

How's 'bout you folks?

I absolutely love that song even though no-one can understand a word. It's been specifically designed to sound like English to someone who doesn't understand it.

Also, quite a bit of metal, I can't think of any specific bands that sing in another language, but I know I have a few in my playlist. And also Tunguska Electronic Music Society.

I'm a heavy metal fan, so there's loads of songs which arn't done in English- mainly in the folkish sub-genre. For instance this song here is sung how Gallic would have been spoken towards the end of the Roman Empire.

If you want you can check this link for a translation- it's surprisingly pretty dark stuff.

Well... not counting J-Pop because that's relatively common. I love C-Pop and K-Pop.

Singers like Jolin Tsai and S.H.E. for Chinese. Brave Brothers and MC Mong for Korean music.

I've fallen for the Swedish group Caramell even though they broke up long before I found them.

And I'm slowly getting into French music with a group known as Kyo. Love "Derniere Danse."

I honestly think this is a really beautiful song. I always feel a sadness when a hear it, as though good times are going to an end. Sort of like the last weeks of summer or the end of a great party with friends.

Japan. All of it.

And the openings to anime tend to be really catchy tunes even if you dont understand it.

Since I know that at least 70% is going to be japanese songs, I'm coming with some variety:

I slightly understand Japanese, but not enough to count really.
As you posted, all the music in Ghost in the Shell is absolutely amazing.
I also love Nujabes, which is Japanese (mostly)
There's a good amount of metal I listen to that is swedish/german/norwegian/etc.
I don't think you can count what Pogo does as english, lol.

So yeah, I listen to music that I enjoy because the music is good. Whether I can understand the lyrics or not is kind of secondary.

I just wanted to say that your avatar is very amazing and I am slightly upset that I have not seen it before now.

I do enjoy some Rammstein, although I can understand some of it admittedly.

Then there's the random stuff that Guitar Hero/Rock Band have put in down the years, such as this.

And Caramelldansen is damn catchy.

Although I know hear the chorus as this.

Dance on my balls
Cat fucking a hand bag
Yours only yours
Delores tickle dance mat
it's no lie,
Lisa in the club said
No Henry had a vagina malfunction.
