Mutated ducks. Should I call some one?

I like to visit a man-made duck pond by my house. recently I've seen 20 or so ducks with large deformities. the only groups of ducks without any mutations are the whistling ducks and Muscovy ducks. Should i call and complain to someone who maintains the parks? Who would I call?

You COULD tell someone... or you could train your own army of Mutant Ducks to crush all who oppose you, your call really.

Huh. I wouldn't try and call the park maintenance or anything of that sort cause they'll probably just call animal control to come and kill em or 'take em away'. See if there are any wildlife refugees or groups in your area that deal with animal rescue etc.

edit: Actually that's assuming it's even a mutation. How can you be so sure?

It looks like Gene has flown into your little duck pond. Oh, that was an awful pun.

I'd leave them alone, lest they seek out vengeance.

In reality, they're going to be harmless, just leave them alone. In Lincoln we have these strange turkey-swans. We just opt to ignore them mostly.

i'm not sure what you mean by "turkey-swans" but if you mean the Muscovy ducks, I wasn't talking about them.

...good lord the turkey-swans have a name. How has no-one ever known this, but a random guy on the internet knows it instantly by the description "turkey-swan"?

And I wasn't saying they were what you had, I had just assumed that what I had were some strange mutation too, and was saying our course of action here was just live and let live, and was saying there's no harm in you doing the same in your scenario

Yeah, they're a kind of duck native to Mexico that got shipped all over the US for their meat some time in the 19th century. Over time people stopped eating them (because seriously, who wants to eat something that looks like that?) but by that point enough had escaped into the wild to support a breeding population. They're also mean little buggers; give me mallard or wood ducks any day.

Oh, another fun fact about Muscovy ducks: one of the reasons they were so popular as food in the 19th century (aside from having, from what I've heard, excellent meat) was that some American rabbi did some creative interpreting of the bible, and decided that they were kosher. This was a very popular idea at one point among American Jews, but it never really took off anywhere else.

I'm surprised a clear duck aficionado like yourself didn't already know about it, ducktapemax.

I also recommend this .gif as your avatar, because EVERY AVATAR NEEDS TO BE A .gif.

Well they don't look like they're in pain or nothing. Are they? If not I think they're alright just how they are. Might look a little weird but best not to fuck with nature.

Yeah, but that doesn't really explain why they're over here in Lincoln, England. I've been all over the country, and I've only ever seen them in this 20 meter squared area of land.

Well I'm glad I searched through the posts before I posted my own response. You would have ninja'd me. But I evaded you this time!

And the benefit of "rescuing" mutated ducks is what, exactly? (assuming they were deformed, which probably isn't the case if there's a bunch of them)

Well, that was cleared up quickly. So, if this thread is still about ducks, who is the best duck?

I actually said in a later post that unless they're not in any sort of pain over it just leave em be. :)
