Can we all get off the MW2 band wagon now? I really enjoyed the game, others didn't. It's that simple really.

Why did it get 9.0+? same reason Halo 3 did
Because they were decent games with a sturdy multiplayer fanbase on the console? Am I the only one who belives that Halo 3 deserves the score it got?
Yes, u are the only one.

Yes, you are the only one.
Alright then. Good to know that the entire world sent one person to tell me that.

to be perfectly honest, i think this is a new direction of stagnation for COD.
it used to be trapped in the trenches, but now it's now a case of unfeasible starring mr. gung-ho american who gets killed pretty early, mr. sneaky SAS supersoldier versus russians and, of course, a very open ending.
I like the game but i fear it's going the way of Dynasty Warriors.

Well, if you read any of the news regarding MW2 in the past month or so, you would realize that Infinity Ward made the console version of the game a hell of a lot better than its PC counterpart. Seeing as one of your badges says that you own a PS3, it's your own fault for not getting the console version.

After reading many reviews of MW 2 and seeing it get scores of 9.0 + from almost every reviewer, I naturally presumed that MW 2 was going to be a very good game, when in fact it is a fairly poor game and shows most reviewers to be nothing more then fan boys.
I stopped reading here. Just because they had a different opinion than you doesn't make them fanboys.

Well saying a game is too short is not criticism, since its only too short if you want to play more of it, which means the game accomplished its goal. Secondly saying that its a bad game just means you don't like it, not that it really is a bad game, like i don't like Mass Effect put people worship it and pray to BioWare. Secondly anyone that says the multiplayer has overpowered upgrades is someone that is not very good at multiplayer and complains because he/she cant compete, which is not the developers fault. Overall i think MW 2 is an awesome game. Its what you expect, a great shooter with great graphics and mechanics, a great storyline that keeps you on the edge of your seat. Throughout the game you don't expect whats coming next and everything that does is more spectacular than you expect. The game fully deserves a 9.0+ score. A part of what makes it so great is that its not generic, its not like wolfenstein in the way that it adds nothing, it has a unique and strange story that binds well with the gameplay to make an awesome game. There's no other game in which you fight in a ruined, burning Washington in a huge war in our time. You didn't like it but it doesn't mean the game is not good.
Although you make some good points, I do have to disagree with you on some of them, and ask you to clarify what you mean.
A short game is a bad game, as it will always feel incomplete and that the developers did a shoddy job. If your paying £35 for a game, then you want lifespan from it. A short campaign shows that the developers where short of idea's / limited themselves with what media they used and decided to let the mutliplayer carry the lifespan. If I wanted that then I would go play an MMO, and surely, if you found the storyline that immersive, would you not want it to carry on for longer?
On the power up criticism I made, I personally think it is a fair criticism when you spawn and are instantly ( or 2 seconds later) killed by one of these power ups. That is neither fun nor fair for anyone playing the game, and after using this power ups numerous times, I feel this is a fair comment as I have seen both sides of using them.
I would agree with you when you say parts of the game locations are good, yet your example reminds me very much of Resistance : Fall of Man, fighting with larger armies through burning Manchester and so on. So in that sense, I would have to disagree with you and say it does not add anything new.
Hope to hear your thoughts.

I played it. I found it definitely mediocre. I like (unfortunately like yahtzee) the offline play. And I have found the 6 hours story line very easy and predictable. The online capabilities are dull, same ol', same ol' FPS style fighting thing.

Why did it get 9.0+ on all reviews??
It's called infinity war's fat wallet and bribes.
Or it's called the game actually was pretty good. Seriously, if whether or not you like the game has nothing to do with what the reviewers think.

MW2 is like the new Halo 3. Extremely hyped, everyone bought it, and now everyone hates it because it isn't the best game in the history of ever. I mean, I'm sure people don't like it because they simply don't like it, but there are also two other groups of people. Those who don't like it because the game didn't live up to their astronomically high expectations, and those who don't like it because its popular.

MW2 does have that extra element of controversy though.
