it was ok. its only consil gamer that thinks the best game ever, its gt solid gun play and it handils well i would ether give it a 7.5 or 8. question why has this thread become an anit-halo thread. come on guys
Hm, you must not have played any other mutliplayer fps's to grasp the concept of dedicated servers as you have no idea how they work, reinforcing my point that people who think this game is good is merely due to lack of experience with any other fps. The vast majority of fps game lobbies ( you probably don't know what that truly is) have a LIST of games to choose from - not game modes, but game rooms. This will always be better.kemosabi4 said:I hate arguing on forums. All people do is reduce your arguments to the base instincts and turn it on you.TB_Infidel said:Well your post clearly shows that the amount of mutliplayer games you have played is exceeding limited.kemosabi4 said:Snip
''IW beautifully shaped the multiplayer into a massive game of rock-paper-scissors''
So even you admit then that if you are equipped to take out one enemy, another will destroy you as 'your paper, and they are scissors'. Thanks for proving my point on horrific balancing issues, as skill will get you so far, then unless you have the perks, your stuffed. Truly the definition of fun, oh wait...
Also no one has ever explained how you are meant to take out numerous kill streak air support when either the enemy has a number of planes, or the opposing team are not stupid and they shoot everyone point blank when they are looking straight into the air and can not see the enemy coming. Or are you just playing against idiots?
Now to point out the lobby system.
' think the system couldn't have been any better' What the hell! So a system in which you can not even choose the map you play on is great? That is just lying.
To say your comment about peripheral vision was just plain stupid. Heard of rendering more on a screen and increasing resolution, or even better - pulling the players vision back a meter. Retard.
Im guessing with everyone talking about not experiencing host migration, the vast majority of you are PC or 360 players, as this will happen on the PS3 a number of times per hour.
My point in the rock-paper-scissors analogy was that, no matter what the situation, there was always a tool to get the job done. I'm not saying defeat is inevitable. There's this thing called skill. Do you think that a player will kill a riot shield class just because he has semtex? No. The point of a n action game is using skill to overcome the enemy. If the other team was predictable, it would be a strategy game. As for your killstreak situation, you could either suck it up, or equip Cold-Blooded and shoot from behind your lines. And how do you think choosing the map would go when you have 12 people all arguing for different things? Randomly choosing the map ensures that players don't waste time arguing. And, like I said before, the vote-to-skip feature ensures that if you really have a major problem with a map, you can try to rally a vote to skip the map. Maybe you think you're entitled to getting your way in life, but the lobby system is the only fair way to do it. And finally, how do you think moving the view back a meter would fix anything? moving the view back a meter on screen would be the equivalent of backing up a meter. Everything would be exactly the same. And you should probably research the meaning behind 'rendering more on screen'.
Agreed. Although I was getting really skeptical about the game when it was approaching release, and actually held off from buying my pre-ordered ($5 down) copy. However, after seeing the game in action, and recalling how much fun I had with CoD4: I really couldn't resist.TsunamiWombat said:I ...disagree?
No one wanted to watch this bloated juggernaught fail more then me, but the fact of the matter is the gameplay is pure distilled fun.
Ok, I can agree that the multiplayer is unbalanced, but not nearly to the point of CoD: WaW. They added death streaks which barely help, but they made man starter classes and weapons overpowered to cater to the noob in most of us. For example, anyone can get stopping power, add that to lets say the UMP, then you can get a kill in two bullets, while higher level people will be using guns overpowered with perks and addons, and a question, what games would you compare it to as dire? Halo is good, absolutely nothing wrong with the game part, but if you are willing to deal with all of the high pitched 11 year olds and gangster wannabes then go ahead play that monotony of a multiplayer. I disagree with the archaic aspect of the multiplayer, as they finally made nonlinear multiplayer maps where campers are prone to anyone capable of aiming or using a grenade, and all of those annoying noobs who use a riot shield. However, it managed to get a massive amount of casual players to buy it and actually play regularly, so I can see where you are coming from if you play with all of those non gamers who cant aim for shit and cant make any sensible classes that could be used effectively. Also, dont belittle a game like CoD or Halo because of its annoying players. Halo gets that all the time from PS3 fanboys, and Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare 2 has way too many campers. If you've played Afghan on multiplayer you know what I am talking about.Mazty said:No, it's SP is far to short to be thought of as anything other than good, and the MP is just sh*t with a dead cat on top. It's unbalanced and archaic. The only reason people love this game is because they don't play other FPS' to compare it to, so of course it's going to look good to a bunch of kids with little gaming experience, but the same can be said about Tetris etc. Simply put, if you've played many other modern FPS', MW2 is dire in comparison.benoitowns said:OK, look, I love the Call of Duty Games. Now before you pass me off as a fanboy who would never say anything against Call of Duty, one has to admit it is a good game. Yes, the campaign is short, but that is not where an FPS is to be known for. Yahtzee was spot on when he mentioned that they were pandering to the media by the terrorist level, but it apparently worked. The graphics are stellar, and you're just trying to jump on the other end bandwagon by saying else. You are not different by saying something that is popular sucks, it just means you are completely affected by others, but trying to stand out by being antagonistic.
well you are lucky, i cant find a single match without campers and snipers up the ass. and it seems whenever there are people who dont camp, they are noobs with scrambler and a riot shield. AND THOSE MACHINE PISTOLS SUCK I HATE THEM WAY TO FUCKING OP....and caps was totally necessary.Burck said:Agreed. Yes it is flawed, but damn is it fun.
Although M-16 and Famas camping in Multi-player really annoys me. There needs to be a game mechanic that penalizes camping, because camping the right spots can give a team complete superiority over the other. I mean, yes this makes sense, but once so many corners are being watched, it just becomes tedious.
Yet, for some reason, I keep playing and managing to find some fun matches.
Its just fun.
I like the riot shield. Thing is, it kills your KDR, but damn is it fun. Perhaps you could enlighten me in the ways that it is annoying. As for scrambler, that perk is just as much of a hazard to its user as it is to you.benoitowns said:*Snip*

I always get killed by a riot shield user because they always spawn right behind me and kill me. And then i spawn in a campers line of sight and die. And die. And then I get pain killer, get a kill, and the process restarts. I refuse to camp.Burck said:benoitowns said:*Snip*
