MW2 = 5 hours long w/ multiplayer almost the same as CoD4.
*also if youre thinking PC, MW2 is garbage on PC & shouldn't be considered.

Dragon Age = 60 hours per class

DA is the better bang/buck

Get both... you'll finish MW2 in and evening, and Dragon age, will through winter, and possibly spring.

Was wondering what should be my next purchase? Modern Warfare 2 or Dragon Age: Origins
Just finished Demon's Souls and Dragon Age was looking like my next purchase until the ZP review.
MW2 has been getting rave reviews and I need me some head shot fix. So just wondering, thanks.
ZP gave it a good review, so why would your mind change?

Can I go out on a limb and suggest you pick up Borderlands? That way you get a little of both.... you'll get your headshot fix and your RPG fix :).

dragon age all the way, but get it on pc if you can. if not take the ps3 version, the x-box version have been trashed by other reviewers.
The 360 version is fine... graphics suck on every version but PC, but they are passable as a current gen game.

Both.

MW 2 is short and sweet, Dragon Age is long and addictive.

Both are the best games of this year.

Skip the overhyped shooter and get Dragon Age, especially when you play on PC.

dragon age. It'll hold you until you get enough for the other. Even with MW2 multiplayer, DA will last you longer.

Dragon Age is the best RPG in years (since BG2, even).
MW2 isn't even really better than MW1.
Mw2 improved on everything that made MW1 epic.
Also. No RPG can come close to Morrowind.
What, like the PC multiplayer? No. The story? No, it's gone bonkers instead of being realistic. The gameplay? No, the stupid strawberry jam damage is really annoying. The perks are better, but in many other ways it's either formulaic and similar or worse.
Realistic? You though Mw1 was realistic?
Also he hasnt specified wether he want its on PC or not. If he is talking about PC then Yes Dragon Age. But for consoles Mw2.
Oh, MW1 is 100% realistic compared to the plotholes and bizzare shit in MW2.
The "Bizzare Shit" in Mw2 is easily understandable if you actually use your brain.
Or another example
why does Shepard turn traitor? OK, he gains power when Russia invades; he's named supreme commander after the invasion. But how does he know that will happen? He'd have to know the Russians would conclude that Americans were behind the invasion (which makes no sense), know that the Russians would then invade America (which also makes little sense), know that he'd be named commander over anyone else, and know that the Americans would defeat the Russians (which is a huge risk) because otherwise it's pretty bad for him. That plan is a house of bloody cards! It's such a ridiculous motivation and plan for a villian.
PvT Allen (The person you play as during No Russian) as a Undercover CIA op, Makarov killed him because Sheppard tipped him off that Allen was undercover. They then found out it was an American who commited the mass murder so they invaded (Cmon, youd know those damn Ruskies would invade if something like that happened). Because Sheppard lost 30k men in Cod4, and he was pissed because no one did anything about it. So he staged the whole thing as a big recruitment drive. He was a famed General thats why he was appointed Surpreme Commander and was given a blank check to take own Makarov. He killed Ghost and Roach because they had evidence that linked him to Makarov.
See? Simple.
Lol, did you even read or understand what I wrote?

Why do the russians not instantly realize Marakov was behind the airport attack considering Marakov is a well known terrorist and he shot up an airport in front of hundreds of people and dozens of security cameras? Why don't the Russians recognize Marakov, the famous terrorist?

How do they know Allen is American? He's an undercover, so he doesn't have any american ID, he's dead so they can't interrogate him. Why do they instantly recognize the undercover nobody and yet completely fail to recognize the not-disguised-in-any way famous russian terrorist Marakov?

How does Shepard's plan make any sense? Did he set out at the start of the game and think, "I know, I want power so I'll set up Allen with Marakov, he'll do a terrorist attack for me, the Russians will conclude Americans did the attack, the Russians will invade the US and I'll be made supreme commander in the wake of the invasion. Outside of the fact that marakov might not cooperate with my brilliant plan, the Russians might recognize marakov, the russians might not invade, the US might be defeated, someone else might be made commander, my betrayal might be discovered or the fact that this whole thing might just cause nuclear war, this plan is foolproof!". What the hell kind of stupid shit is that?
What do you do when you have a dead body? You test the DNA. Thats how they find out he is American.
All they find left is an American body. Why wouldnt they assume its America? They might have show out the Cameras Im not sure.
Sheppard was pissed, he lost 30 000 men in the blink of an eye. This plan to him seemed like the the easiest way to get the power he needed. Obviously his plan wasnt fool proof seeing as how he is dead.

MY DNA SAYS I'M AMERICAN?!?!@#$@

Holy crap! I would have thought it would point towards Western European ancestry if anything.
I have to go discuss how fast genetic drift happens with my past ecology professor.

You should go pick up an genetics text book and do some heavy reading if you think your DNA tells people what nationality you are.

Also - to the OP

Dragon Ago:Origins. Period.

MW2 is a mediocre shooter with and absurd plot told cobbled together in a disjointed fashion.

The multi-player consists of racing to get the aerial kill streaks (predator/hellfire missiles, harrier jet, helicopter, and ultimately a nuke that auto wins the map for your side). If you're on the team that doesn't get those things first you might as well go make a sandwich while you get spawn-camped by some douche in a helicopter shooting explosive, wall/roof piercing rounds.

The spec-ops is fun, but is it worth $60.00? Not in my opinion - I am so glad I borrowed the game from my brother.

I'd go Dragon Age. I've played both, but DA:O is the one that's held my interest across the board. MW2 is basically MW with improved graphics, some slight gameplay improvements, and a slightly different but no less generic story. Dragon Age is a completely new title, with a new world and engaging story. The thing to take out of that ZP review is that it held Yahtzee's interest and he still wants to know what happens next after 25 hours of gameplay (which is about slightly less than halfway through the story). The other criticisms he had (for instance, that the cutscenes made the characters fall into the uncanny valley) seemed off base to me. It's also definitely darker than a lot of fantasy works (Fable and Oblivion come to mind). Yahtzee hadn't played through the whole thing, so he didn't realize just how dark it can get. The choices you make in the game are numerous, varied, and have long-reaching effects. It's another one of those games that makes you agonize over what to do on more than one occasion. And no morality bar means you can follow you're own moral compass.

In short, DA:O is far more rewarding. It's also got killer replayability. I just beat the game with a mage, now I'm going back as a City Elf rogue and finding so much is different. The origin stories really do effect the whole game, particularly as you visit locations which tie into your own origin. But anyway, that's my recommendation. If you want a good, immersive, engaging, single-player experience, you can't do better than Dragon Age.

SPOILER ALERT idk how to do the thing 4 that

because it's highly skill based, and highly refined after 6 games in more years.
and haz u even played MW2?
get shot in the face after massacring ppl - Highly original concept...
get blown the fuck up in orbit - Nope... can't say I haven't seen this 8 million times already either... Halo comes tom mind
stealth in a snow storm ( find another gg that haz that ) Metal Gear? How about Lost Planet?
blow up every car on the bridge while being shot at Well I would hope you were being shot it if you were trying to blow up a car... but blow up x number of item y has been done several times, like Borderlands, Gears, Fallout 3, etc.
exchange .50 cals with ghillie suited snipers Sniper battles? You're right... those are entirely new
drive a boat In an action game? NEVER! Not in Gears, Saints Row 2, Uncharted, etc...
drive a snow mobile Nope don't remember this... oh wait... James Bond games have had this for years :)
drive a jeep with a dead driver onto a plane Hmm, with a dead driver and onto a plane you say... ok, having a hard time coming up with that one
retake the capitol building Fallout 3, Ultimate Alliance 2
retake the mall Fallout 3, Ultimate Alliance 2
shoot from a rifle in a heli Hmm, Halo, Gears, several other FPS's
shoot a minigun from a heli See above, but add Saints Row 2
use an AC130 to cover your buddy So a giant plane armed to the tits? I dunno, Battlefield, 1943, there's a lot of flight combat games out there
shoot noobs Pretty much every multi-player FPS in existence....

yes, it all involves killing, death, dying, or all 3 at a massive scale, in a modern setting, but isnt DAO just the same thing dialed a few hundred yrs ago in a mythical land?
if you want that much story, read a fucking book for once. or 9. or watch a movie. their writers are much better than video game writers. Well, DA:O is a bit different in that you have different weapons, unique fantasy characters, magic and.... oh, a story...

MW2 dosent have a generic story. It dosent take place in WW2. Your not fighting all the time against evil nazis. It dosent seep american patrotism from every pore. So what you're saying is that it's good because it's not like the past call of duty games?
No, you're right... it's a highly original concept and I'm surprised no one has done anything like this ever before.
