Okay, I think everyone knows about these guns. The ones that could be dual-wielded and could kill from an extremely long distance. These guns were wildely frowned upon in the game since its extreme range and the doubled fire rate akimbo gave it made these guns pretty broken.

Anyway, a patch was released recently to nerf these guns, by reducing the range on them if you put the akimbo attachment on. If you used the shotgun on its own it would still have it's original range, but it took a long time to cock the lever so it was pretty balanced then anyway.

But this is where the fun begins. Someone has found that if you put Akimbo + FMJ on the gun via the Bling Pro perk, the akimbo 1887's firepower is returned to what it was before the patch, as well as retaining its akimbo benefits (demonstration vid [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vr6k_nSKQZY]. I know, bad quality). Yeah, a bit of an epic fail on IW's part there.

Now I don't know about you, but I think IW has really gone downhill lately. The amount of glitches and balance issues in this game as well as the amount of thought that has been put into this patch really shows they aren't as bright as they used to be, and pretty much contributes to all the reasons why some people say this game's MP is a mess.

Anyway, I was bored and had nothing better to do, so I thought I'd share this with everyone, especially since there has been alot of talk about these guns recently.

It was a good thing the range was nerfed. Please remove this information.

It's happened in every game, Gears of war had the slide glitches and moonwalk curbstomps.

It seems like rather than patch a glitch, the company just ups the difficulty in preforming it.

Meh, it's not a big deal. If you're good you'll still rack up the kills without them, and kill the people with them.

TBF, the slide glitch served a purpose. In almost every game some dickhead is camping with a snipe pointed at the weapon spawns. This happened very often in Canals if your team got to your sniper after the other team already got theirs.

The moonwalk curbstomps....not so much.

They didn't "go downhill". They're falling into the abyss without parachute. Sure, every online shooter has bugs and imbalances and whatever, but Valve, for example, at least treats it's customers like people.

Repeat thread is repeated...

We learned of this I THINK 3-4 days ago. (or maybe 2, can't remember)

Now if you don't mind, I'm going to goose step salute, draw peculiar artistic symbols that are shaped like funny X's and shurikens and shout "HEIL MY FUHER!" and inform you to use the search bar. Repeatedly.

True, but it's still a glitch. A fun one, a useful one, and even fair one, but still not intended to be possible.

how are thay failing? they have the most popular online shooter ever, which means that there are alot of people playing it and alot of people trying to exploit every little thing they can to get an edge or cheat. IW has already released 2 patches in the 1 month that the game has been out to try and fix these problems. to me that really seems like IW does care about their customers and is doing everything they can to fix any problems that occur.

Coming out with the most anticipated, best selling game of all time. How is IW going "dwonhill" exactly?

It's still annoying being at a 24 kill streak (with the nuke enabled), then being killed by someone with the models who just spawned about 20 feet from you.

My thoughts are that there is a search bar and it ought to be used.
Why don't you try that yourself?

Go on, type in 'Akimbo 1887s' into the search bar. See how many threads come up.

If you're going to be a search bar Nazi at least do the search yourself first in order to avoid making utterly useless contributions to threads.
While they patched it up, you need perks in order to work.

ye but the patches were a pretty epic fail. and the only reason the good players still play mw2 is that they traded in their mw1 to get mw2 :/ the fact mw2 consists of campin in the corner with over-powered weopans like the 1887s just sort of kills the game for me

He could have killed you with a normal assault rifle as well from that position as well.

It's always annoying to die while having a kill-streak.

Here's my solution:
Step 1:Get marathon pro, lightweight pro, throwing knives, and commando pro.
Step 2:Become "that prick with the knife"
