I'm sorry, but why is it that every time I talk to someone about Modern Warfare 2, it turns it's a rant about balance issues? Why do we get so hung up on little issues which, as silly as it may sounds to people like you, do not affect me?

I'm sorry, but this is a complaint I've heard countless times. Let's just come to the conclusion that no matter what happens, there will always be "balance issues". Just like how riot shields are now as good as shielding yourself with cardboard or how anyone can clean a room with an AA12 shotgun easily.

Yea the 1887s are still cheap as hell.

But what can really you?
What can really you indeed. I accidentally in your forum is this ok?

Has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?
You?ve got to be kidding me. I?ve been further even more decided to use even go need to do look more as anyone can. Can you really be far even as decided half as much to use go wish for that? My guess is that when one really been far even as decided once to use even go want, it is then that he has really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like. It?s just common sense.

sadly, this^.

I said the exact same thing in a previous thread.

now once moar with feeling:

[HEADING=3]YOU ARE NOW USING PERKS TO DO THE EXACT SAME THING THAT YOU COULD BEFORE THE PATCH WITHOUT THE PERKS. IW DID PATCH THE GAME TO FIX IT, MAYBE YOU SHOULD ACTUALLY THINK BEFORE POSTING THREADS.[/HEADING]

thank you, and have a merry christmas.........

Except for that guy, he doesn't get a good Christmas this year........
Yeah. He's a jerk. He knows what he did.

They didn't "go downhill". They're falling into the abyss without parachute. Sure, every online shooter has bugs and imbalances and whatever, but Valve, for example, at least treats it's customers like people.
how are thay failing? they have the most popular online shooter ever, which means that there are alot of people playing it and alot of people trying to exploit every little thing they can to get an edge or cheat. IW has already released 2 patches in the 1 month that the game has been out to try and fix these problems. to me that really seems like IW does care about their customers and is doing everything they can to fix any problems that occur.
They do not have the most popular online shooter and their best one isn't even MW2 and IW does not care about their customers IW cares about their wallets if they could make a game where you make cardboard put Call Of Duty on it at this point and people would buy it because it has that on it because people are sheepish.
Just look what they did to the PC version.

Coming out with the most anticipated, best selling game of all time. How is IW going "dwonhill" exactly?
Well the fact although it is the best selling it is not the most played so many more games are palyed more than it and that didn't add anything that was worth it on PC.

Although I don't own the game I can't say I'm surprised IW has never ever fixed game breaking weapons in any of their games.

If it was up to me i'd just take away the dual weild thing altogether, it doesnt make any sence. IW split from the MoH team to make more realistic games not unrealistic crap like this.

Good to see that they atleast tryed to patch it though.

all i maintain about modern warfare 2s problems is that they should have had a public beta, all games which have multiplayer as a main section should have a public beta. Otherwise shit like the javelin glitch happens, gears of war 2 glitches happen etc.

Remember halo 3s public beta? Remember how halo 3 didn't come with horrid glitches?

Also as many have pointed out, when your want to talk about a particular part of a game post it in the games thread, not as a entire you thread. People get annoyed, not me personally but a hell of alot of other people.

Dual shotguns are always going to be cheap as hell.

Reason?

It compensates for a person's inability to use one (by removing some of the weaknesses).

-Slow rate of fire (now you have a second shot while the other one is pumping/reloaded)
-Low ammo capacity (a second gun means you effectively have double the ammo)
-Low accuracy (more shots fired in total will compensate for this, also, it;s a shotgun, since when did we care about accuracy?)
-Slow reload time (to my knowledge this remains effectively unchanged but still has the benefit of you having double ammo and that you have to reload half as often)

As you can see, just having dual shotguns alone is somewhat underhanded anyway (no matter how much you patch it).

Using one shotgun well is still the epitome of badass in my opinion.

I can tolerate the Javelin glitch and the witch builds and the akimbo shotguns and all of the other so called "cheap" loadouts one can imagine. The javelin glitch tested the limits of what I am willing to tolerate however. With the rest, I at least have a reasonable opportunity to defeat the opposing players, with the javelin the odds of surviving the encounter rapidly dropped to zero. Luckily, after the initial bouts of dealing with the thing there was a steady decline in the number of people exploiting the problem and these days I rarely see it.

The glitch that I simply will not tolearate however are the ones where you are pulled into a private match where the fundamental rules of the game have been altered for reasons I cannot fathom. The previous problems are simply challenges to overcome, the most recent round of exploits ensures I don't even know what sort of game I'm going to play when I insert the disc.

Well, it's been said before, but to make your weapon as powerful as it was before you're sacrificing the advantage you would be getting from your perk slots.

Now I don't know about you, but I think IW has really gone downhill lately. The amount of glitches and balance issues in this game as well as the amount of thought that has been put into this patch really shows they aren't as bright as they used to be, and pretty much contributes to all the reasons why some people say this game's MP is a mess.
Except for the glitchy part, I agree completely. With idiotic moves like dual shotguns, Infinity Ward has completely skewed the balance on the battlefield. To someone like me, who prefers stealth gameplay over running-and-gunning, and therefore Cold-Blooded over Stopping Power, I feel like Infinity Ward is subtly flipping the bird in my general direction.

1) how do you know IW meant to allow perk slots to work around the patch? How do you know this wasn't an unforeseen work around?

2) I think the bigger issue is: why is the FMJ is increasing range? FMJ is supposed to just increase bullet penetration issues, right?

3) now that I think about it, why the hell does a shotgun have FMJ anyway?
As a reply to this
1) I don't know (Edit: sorry he obviously doesn't know he is just guessing no need to call him out on it)
2) It increases damage and so the range that it can kill at is increased (instead of mearly damaging, it kills)
3) It shouldn't, how the hell do you turn each ball bearing into incendiary bullets (correct me if I'm wrong but FMJ is basically incendiaryisn't it?)

You raise a good point, wouldn't FMJ on a shotgun just be it firing a single solid slug? (like the shotgun in AVP2)

You would have something more along the lines of an elephant gun.

I wouldn't say they're going downhill. Since it's the biggest FPS in quite some time, people will find the glitches faster and they'll be a bigger deal because of the amount of people.

Also I don't understand how they are treating there customers poorly. They're doing what they can to fix these problems with the patches. They fixed the shotgun issue, they're listening.
