Really? Then I must be véry unlucky, or everyone who drops their weapon when he/she dies is out of ammo. It's not that I'm not seeing the weapon disappear (I ain't looking at the ground, that's suicide), but each time I walk over say a SCAR while holding a SCAR myself, I'm not getting any extra ammo. It sucks getting out of ammo, I feel naked if I can't use my heartbeat sensor.
Thinking about it, when I was playing Specops last night with a friend I was having trouble with running out of ammo for the SCAR even when I was walking over enemy SCARs, but I confirmed in singleplayer that a FAL with shotgun and FAL with red dot are both ammo for a FAL with ACOG, and the same with RPDs with red dot being ammo for RPD with ACOG. It could be a problem with the SCAR itself.

I play it on the xbox and the "matchmaking" sucks.. It takes FOREVER to get a games and when you go in to matchmaking with other people it takes twice as long and sometimes you dont even end up in the same game. I am having trouble with the game lagging out when trying to find a game. Its reallyy annoying!

This thread is not about tweaking the game.
When someone uses the words "tweak" - that means you're trying to raise the preformance of the game - either by gaining a higher framerate or shorter loadtimes.
They are multiple homepages dedicated to this cause.

This thread is about fixing crucial balance issues which is something completely different. It is sad when Infinitiy Ward won't give much of a damn towards fixing game balance issues by lockung out the MOD community - which otherwise help a lot on making the game a more competitive and balanced game.

They need to make the choppers/Harriers weaker. I can unload 2 rockets and 200 LMG bullets and the fucker is still flying.
I played the game on Hard mode and they all seemed to die from one shot from my Rocket Launcher.

Possibly fix the spawn parameters, dont know how many times ive either spawned infront of an enemy, in the middle of a firefight or infront of the whole enemy team.

Just doesnt feel as normal as MW1

Chopper Gunner needs a little bit of power removed from it's gun, it kills way too quickly.

Pave Low and Harrier both need some kind of cooldown or something on their gun, both of those just do work non-stop.

Semtex needs a small power reduction, or Frag Grenades need a small power increase. Right now there's no reason to use Frags over Semtex.

Oh, and FIX XBOX LIVE'S MATCHMAKING SYSTEM. Seriously, when you're in a party it takes 15 minutes to find a game, and 75% of the time it splits up your party into seperate lobbies or drops a few of your players for no reason.

More in the spirit of the topic:
I propose a revised ammo pick-up system. 80% Of the time when I walk over a SCAR while wielding a SCAR, I don't get the ammo. It's like you only get ammo from a weapon when it has the exact same load-out as yours. And honestly, that's pure bullshit, it's not like it matters if a SCAR has a silencer a not, they both use the same bullets. I get out of ammo só quickly, and I can barely pick something up.
WRONG! If you're using a silencer with regular bullets then you're retarded. When you put a silencer on a weapon you need to use sub-sonic bullets or else you just have a fancy muzzle flash reducer.

It depends what you are using the sound suppressor for. If you are going for as silent as you can get, then yes, you can use subsonic ammunition.
Largely in CoD when you're given a silenced weapon it's for a "silent" mission, so it would be understandable; the sound used is also a lot more consistant with silencer + subsonic than with full-power rounds. Could also just be our avatar is worried about wear on the can if he starts throwing supersonic ammo through it on a regular basis.

Also, since you're pointedly using "suppressor" instead of "silencer;" while that's what gun enthusiasts tend to do, it's not right that "silencer" is an incorrect term; Maxim patented his design as "Maxim silencer."

Major Tom said:
But for general military use standard ammunition is fine, 9mm para rounds tend to give good subsonic performance out of the factory anyway.
Yeah, but 9mm para isn't a rifle round. The SCAR-H is a battle rifle that fires a full-size 7.62x51mm NATO, try firing that supersonic out of a silencer and still being in any way quiet.

Major Tom said:
Suppressors are used mainly to reduce muzzle flash diffuse the sound of the discharge, so that it is difficult to determine where the shot came from, not to make the weapon silent.
Actually they're used mainly by police and antiterrorist units who are either worried about decibel reduction for health and safety reasons, or want teams to be able to use verbal signals indoors without deafening each other every time they fire. Snipers mainly use them for the reason you state, but noise reduction is the most common usage. Of course a silencer doesn't ever make a gun particularly silent unless the weapon is built around it [as per the Welrod, De Lisle and VSS, among others], but hey.

It's the very first SMG... slightly different one to the model in COD4.

It looks so awesome with the artic camo.

personally, i think the Vector SMG needs some power added. it fires the same round as the UMP and has half the power. wtf?
8-inch barrel versus a 5.5-inch barrel may well have something to do with that.

As for changes, the reload animation for the 1887 needs to show the cartridges being put into the magazine tube instead of the barrel.
Actually, barrel lenth doesn't have too much of an effect bullet velocity.

I remember hearing that a Beretta Cx4 Carbine only has about 100fps over the Px4 series of pistols, dispite having an extra foot of barrel lenth over it's pistol counterpart.

Invite system not requiring port forward.
And jesus people, stop using this thread to whine about mod/Dedicated servers. Go make your own threads.

Having the silencers not take off damage. It doesn't say it does, but I think if I pointblank someone with a .50 cal, they should die, as those things can easily take a limb clean off. That's not even no scoping either. Funnily enough, this only stopped killing people when I added the silencer.

Get's a tad annoying when you have a Barratt, silencer, thermal scope + stopping power pro, and a shot to the chest/head isn't a one shot kill.

Anyway, they should make sniper rifles blindfire wildly inaccurate again, even with Steady Aim. I'm tired of rushing a sniper only to have him spray the fifty-caliber long rifle in my face at 5 rounds a second.
Maybe you should stop trying to rush someone who's pointing an anti-material rifle at you.
I mean when I flank snipers and they decide to turn and check or I get spotted on radar or something. Instead of having to switch to their sidearm, they just Halo-jump and drop-shot while spraying the sniper rifle.

All I can Google up is claims that the velocity difference is "substantial." For an example where figures are more readily available, though, the difference between the 5.3 inch barrel of an M1911 and the 10.5 inch barrel of a Thompson is 90 feet per second, an increase in speed of just under 11%.

For anyone who uses Ninja perk:

Don't.

It is bugged and requires a patch. You will still show up on the heartbeat sensors.

I thought I was imagining it but had a look on the IW forums and sure enough, many people have the same problem.

I'm also getting wierd low frequency audio blips when I change weapons or start a match. not sure what that's about.
