I have nothing else to play, and I'm waiting for New Vegas to relieve me of my video game drought.
Until then I'm just going to do a bunch of reading and writing.

Its fun...that is all.
I know but... why? How can it be fun after nearly a year? I've played it a friend's house and I was bored after 20 minutes.
though your right, it's probably just people's opinions.
you played it for 20 minutes. It's the sort of thing that you get better at by playing.. and if you haven't played enough to become invested in it, then you can't possibly understand

Sense of self-inflation radar is off the fucking charts right here.

Seriously, BBC2 is the same bullshit as MW2 except with a fancy destruction engine.
Not to mention bullet drop on bolt action sniper rifles, tanks, IFV's, helicopters, boats, cars, a requirement to work as a team to some extent, an inability to get through a multiplayer game by quickscoping or camping. And piss weak explosives is a small price to pay for not being blown up by someone who isn't even aiming every five seconds.

And doesn't CoD lack recoil?

Each to their own, however, at least MW2 keeps MW2 players away from Battlefield.

Well, apparently....and try to stay with me on this....some people enjoy things that you don't like.

And flame war in 3...2...1...(NOTE TO MODS: I do not encourage, nor do I participate in, flame wars. The last part of this post is meant only to state a fact, not to show my endorsement of an unfortunate, but inevitable, event.)

As everybody has touched on here, they keep playing because, presumably, they're still enjoying it.

And this isn't a "singling out" of ME2, I know plenty of people who have wrung the last drops of enjoyment out of a title long after I've had my fill of it.

You know what? In some ways I'm jealous of those people (at least financially) that seem to "get the most" out of their games. I generally can't stick with a game more than a single playthrough, and I'm generally bouncing two or three games at all times.

My wallet would thank me if I shared the standpoint of the people the original poster is discussing.

I think it's pretty fun honestly although I wouldn't buy it this late in the game, just wait for black ops to come out and get that.

You're basically asking why people enjoy FPS games....

Online gives both great senses of comradery and competition. And, well, sometimes it's fun to kill things. Even if you don't enjoy COD you probably kill things in some other game... Online gives and almost infinite replay value... in theory. Of course some people get bored of it quickly. Other people probably haven't played anything since it was released.
