MW2 - why are people STILL playing?

Yeah, thats true. Bungie stated that they're working on the betrayal thing, but the quit-ban is basically staying as is for the time being. Its bullshit, I agree. I have the same disconnect issues, it disconnects from Xbox Live randomly and its annoying as all hell.

Wish it had more maps. And more maps that weren't just ripped from campaign.

...or from the previous games! I know Forge World is amazing and all, but those maps aren't in pub matchmaking.

Oh, and Armour Lock... FUCK Armour Lock. COD levels of noob-friendliness.

The one I hate the most is sprint.

It has to be like COD, because I guess Halo doesn't sell well enough on its own? Granted I doubt thats why Bungie did it, but subconsciously I believe its there. That being said, I fucking love the jetpacks and assassinations.

Its because MW2 is easy to play. You can have downs syndrome and still get a nuke.

Battlefield Bad company 2 is too difficult for COD players even though it is the superior and far more enjoyable FPS.

A) Underneath all the crap (tubes/commando/deathstreaks etc) its actually a pretty awesome game.

B) It still has a large player base. I can't play Killzone 2 because nobody else plays it.

I play it, I find it fun, and yeah, I hate people who hate.
And as for it being 'unreal', no game is going to fully capture real war.

Because despite what the L4D2 boycotters suggest, people always play any game. Im sure you can still find online DOOM and Quake players. It may not be as big as it was in the 90's, but its not like no one ever plays old games.

It's crazy 'cos I mostly get dominated, then once every million games something beautiful happens and I get a 5 kill streak which leads to a 7 then a 9 or 11 and I end up with a score of 40 odd with 2 deaths ... then the very next game I back to breaking even, give or take a few kills/deaths.

Then I play ground war and end up with 0 kills and 40 deaths and the top guy has the opposite and I think "how the fuck did that guy do that! My longest life was 10 seconds".

Got to admit, picking the riot shield and blast shield and letting people wail on you is fun! Till some cocky fuck runs in from the side and knifes me!

Heh, the riot shield shows what the biggest actual problem in Modern Warfare 2 is. There's nothing quite like having someone directly in front of you stab you, only to see in kill cam that they were right next to you, not in front.

For extra fun, if you play a game on Vacant or any other map with a lot of indoor sections, take the shield with Scavenger and C4. There's nothing quite as amusing as running around throwing C4 at people. It's even more fun if you take a rocket launcher and Danger Close to be an even bigger jerk. Don't get much of a kill/death ratio, in fact it's a damned good game when you break even or do slightly better, but it is bloody hilarious.

Tell me about it! The number of times I have been blasting away with any weapon and not even getting a hit marker, yet the other guy is blasting thin air and I am taking damage, turns out I was blasting nothing and he was dead on ... he must have been thinking, "what is this guy on?".

Or getting shot at and you know your about to die, so you duck back round the wall and you know the bullet can't travel through that corner but you still die, even the kill cam backs you up, by showing them shooting a wall yet they get a kill.

I think C4 is the worst equipment, it's like a retarded claymore ... it doesn't know when to explode, so you have to tell it to. I think it's good when you know theres a room filled with people 'cos it like an instant detonating nade, they don;t have chance to run but how often does a room filled with enemies happen?

It does sound fun (riot shield, rocket launcher combo) and I need a few kills with the rocket launchers, I am trying to get all the emblems and titles (not looking forward to the drop a crate on a guys head) and not being a massive online douche.

I think you should get constant painkiller when you have the riot shield equipped 'cos it's so hard to get kills, your an easy, slow moving target, you get blinded by cracks in the shield, your wearing extra protective clothing anyway ... it would atleast make it worth while to use the shield.
