My backlog is looking pretty intimidating.

Heh, that's your intimidating backlog? Mine has...let's say a bit more than those. If 20-ish intimidates you, I don't want to think what mine would do to you. Pray you don't reach that point.
Backlogged Games: 189
Time To Complete: 101 Days, 12 Hrs, 56 Mins

And that's after making a serious effort to thin it down recently...and only counting PC games...and only the ones I already own...and...maybe I should just give up now.
Mine are currently 125, with probably 30-ish I've yet to get (I don't have the time for them, so why buy them?) and another few that I'm expecting this year, that's not counting what will come up as I go along. I cannot spend the serious effort - over the Christmas/New Year break I got to play...two games to the end - one was KOTOR2 (although, I'm still replaying it making opposing choices) and...FTL: Faster Than Light (so I managed to beat the flagship...if you count that). I simply don't have enough time D: I've meditated on my backlog and I'm at peace, though - I won't much care if it gets to over 200 - I'll not be scared.
I have also long since accepted that I will never, ever complete everything on my list. A lot of the time what I consider to be progress is installing half a dozen games, playing them for half an hour to an hour each, and then uninstalling all the ones that don't immediately grab me (often most of them, depending on what I happen to have grabbed) and crossing them off the list. If something about the UI or controls or whatever is bugging me and I'm not really into it and there's no simple fix, oh well. There are always a couple hundred other options. Coincidentally, KOTOR2 is probably one of the next RPGs for me too. I put it off for so long until the restored content mod was finally done.

I'm surprised you actually want to play Two Worlds. Unless you mean Two Worlds 2, in which case go ahead, I've heard that one isn't so terrible. If it's Two Worlds, then be prepared for below average gameplay, story, voice acting (oh god the voice acting) and a multitude of annoyances and bugs. My 360 version of that game crashed so many times I resorted just running through that game.
Thankfully I have the PC version, which is actually playable. As for the voice acting, while it's definitely a far cry from "good," it does have a certain hammy, laughable charm to it. Two Worlds II by comparison is the auditory equivalent of trying to eat an entire loaf of stale bread.

Final Fantasy VII, VIII, IX and XIII - JRPG + Lots of reading and possibly grinding.
VII - Lots of grinding makes the game a lot more fun and less frustrating, and an FAQ on hand to help if you get stuck somewhere (but that goes for all but 13).
VIII - Do. Not. Grind. Every enemy is tied to your level so it's actually beneficial to stay fairly weak and low level, just horde high power draws and train up your GF's, but there's no need to be anywhere near max level at the end.
IX - Do it in one go, don't leave it like I did, 30 hours in and when I came back a month or two later I had no idea what the hell I was doing
XIII - There can be a fair bit of grinding, use the internet to find good spots to take the sting out of it.

OT: Honestly my backlog of half-finished puts this to shame. Damn thing goes back to the PS1 I think o-o.

If you feel like a story I'd get on those FF's, if you feel like a quick burst of action Earthworm Jim can be cleared in maybe 2 hours your first time, but otherwise the gentleman I have quoted has given sound advice and I would urge you to utilise it :p

Oh, and Xenoblade Chronicles. That's lurking in my backlog too. The fucker, now there's some grinding!

True, for say, a small little fun time, or a drunk game session, Two Worlds is perfect and the voice acting really lends itself to play throughs such as that. But as a serious game, it really holds it back.

Though stuff like This [http://www.audioatrocities.com/games/twoworlds/clip7.mp3] and This [http://www.audioatrocities.com/games/twoworlds/clip9.mp3] and My personal favourite [http://www.audioatrocities.com/games/twoworlds/clip15.mp3] make me laugh quite a lot.

Looks terrible? I don't know about that. The character models are a bit crap, I'll admit, but the environments are quite beautiful.
Meh, I don't agree. I will admit I'm probably too focused on the character models though.

I love a big backlog! It makes me feel loved (I don't think that's the right emotion, but I'm sticking to it anyways)
I've been working on getting Seriously 3.0 on Gears 3 for the last couple months, so I've let my backlog build some. Some games I've played through once, others only parts of.

Someone else mentioned going from oldest to newest and that's a pretty good idea.

Although these should be prioritised in no particular order:

Final Fantasy IX
Psychonauts
Thief

Those are the ones I've played anyway =P Own a few of the others on the list but haven't gotten around to playing them yet. Well, I played a bit of The Witcher too but UGH. The mechanics were interesting, but the VA was awful, Triss' boobs bugged the HELL out of me, and the story didn't grip me at all. But then I stopped playing pretty quickly.

When Geralt has sex with Triss in the beginning, two seconds after she gets the potion that saves her life. Sex which she instigates. Cos you know, being mortally wounded really revs my sexual appetite up something fierce. [HEADING=3]NOT.[/HEADING]

(I don't care that the sex isn't mandatory. I had NO IDEA choosing that reply would lead to having sex. Pissed me off.)

Otherwise I've heard good things about Okami. Haven't played it myself because reasons, but I want to!

Right now I've got a pretty big backlog of games I need to complete, but I'm having a hard time deciding where to start. That's where you come in. You know, if you want. These are my options:

The Witcher: Enhanced Edition
MDK
Thief
Two Worlds
Disciples II
Metro 2033
Borderlands 2
Max Payne (the first one)
Psychonauts
Final Fantasy VII, VIII, IX and XIII
Earthworm Jim HD
Rock of Ages
Dead Space
Munch's Oddysee HD
Devil May Cry 3 (I have the HD collection but have little interest in the first two games)
Okami HD

I... think that's it. As you can see, I went on quite the spending spree this past December. Keep in mind, I kind of want to get to the newer and/or shorter games first.
That's it? Son, you don't know backlog is until you've reached that 30 games bar. Myself, I'm behind on 68 games on PS3 alone, don't make me add in Steam library backlog cause that's well over triple digits.

Heh, that's your intimidating backlog? Mine has...let's say a bit more than those. If 20-ish intimidates you, I don't want to think what mine would do to you. Pray you don't reach that point.

Anyway, leave DMC3 for later, I say, you'd probably want to replay it on a different difficulty and with Vergil (although he's just replaying Dante's levels with his own playstyle) so it would take longer. Unless you just want the story, in which case a run through on Easy is quite fast.

Disciples 2 (excellent choice, by the way) is slow. I'd suggest you turn off attack animations after you get sick of them - units do this fancy twirling and chanting and sweeping and stuff that takes several seconds. For each attack they make. Each unit. Several times per combat. It's interesting to see but it extends some battles by several times (the easy ones). Even then, it's not that fast - four campaigns, each with several maps, even if you don't completely restart or reload too much, it still takes a while. And then there is the expansions - the Light/Dark ones add in roughly 50-60% more campaign time, I've yet to play the one with the elves (I suppose you have it, though).

MDK I haven't played but I've played MDK 2 - if that's anything to go by, move it towards the top of the list - it's quite fun and relaxing game, not terribly long but quite enjoyable.

Rock of Ages I sort of assumed isn't really long, so probably toward the top of the list is fine for it.

Thief and Witcher I think you can put roughly towards the middle.
i wanna know your back log.

Rock of Ages is a fun little time sink, I've spent a few hours on that, good for when you want a little break from serious games.

Thief, Borderlands 2 and Metro 2033 are all good. As for where to start, up to you really.
two worlds is regarded by many to have the worst voice acting in gaming. forsooth i find thy lack of talent veriely crap and the main quest doesnt make alot of sense.

on the upside the pc version at least for an open world game is remarkably stable, its got an interesting magic system and its pretty, its a decent game to wander about screwing around. once you get past the voice acting its ok
Perhaps it's better than the 360 version then, which to me was ugly (especially since I mainly see it as a sort of Oblivion rip off which was in some areas better looking and released earlier), boring, buggy as all hell and very nasty feel to the controls. If the PC version is good then maybe I might have a look for it. ANd with possible mods it might actually be a half way decent game. There were some things about it that I did like but it's just the major things that bring it down.

Shorter Games first? Keep Okami safe for a while then. It goes on a while and it is WONDERFUL. But, in all seriousness, it is really rather long.

so since you have so many games in your backlog would you be buying all the new games coming out this year or resist buying them so you can complete your backlog first.

The Witcher is a fun game, and you get trading cards in game for getting Geralt some booty. Assuming it's the first witcher, and not the second. By booty I mean naked women, not treasure.
