0.o are you serious?Judgement101 said:....Why does framerate effect gameplay? Seriously, I make all my games run at low rates to I get minimum online lag. I run League of Legends (great free game, try it) at 15 FPS 9/10 times and it runs fine. On minecraft.......my render distance is always low and I have it on fast so I don't really know.

It runs on Java. There's your whole damn answer.BlacklightVirus said:Earlier I was playing Minecraft and I noticed the framerate was down to the point where it was almost unplayable. I did have the settings at maximum but I have a pretty good PC and frankly, Minecraft shouldn't need barely any resources. Minecraft is one of the most inefficient games I've ever played in terms of resources and considering it isn't doing much in terms of graphics or physics, it should be able to run on a toaster. I think Notch really needs to make Minecraft more efficient although I'm aware it is made with Java so I'm asking for the impossible but it still annoys be when something this basic can't maintain an acceptable framerate. Does anyone else feel like Minecraft performs terribly for a game which really doesn't actually do much.

Does it really cause lag? I play a lot of games at a low FPS and they run without lag....or so they seem....maybe I'm too used to it.....CONSPIRACY!Tubez said:Judgement101 said:Yes, why?Tubez said:0.o are you serious?Judgement101 said:....Why does framerate effect gameplay? I guess it depends what you are used to..
I cannot play a fps with under 60fps and any mmo/other genre games under 40fps without getting annoyed that its lagging :<
Im pretty sure you are just used to it, before I upgraded my computer I used to be able to play games at 20-30fps without getting annoyed but now I'm used to pretty much never drop below 60 fps and if I do drop down to 40fps I notice it quite a lot.Judgement101 said:Does it really cause lag?
