Had a rape kit done, and as always DNA evidence points to those rat bastard marketing executives in Hollywood who greenlight these violent assaults upon the tender nether regions of my most cherished memories.

Seriously, Hollywood? A fucking A-Team remake? IS NOTHING SACRED ANYMORE? And just to grind salt into the wound, you choose Del Taco---MY FAST FOOD SANCTUARY, HOME OF EVERYTHING GOOD IN THIS WORLD---to do your merchandising tie-ins. This means every time I go for meaty, delicious Del Beef Burritos, I have to see your memory molestation like the altar boy up the street going into the confession booth.

I hate you, Hollywood. Right at the moment I'd like to drop Castle Fucking Bravo on the city of Los Angeles to wipe it off the map. A-Team. George Peppard's turning in his grave. Damn it all to hell.

(for discussion: What, if any, recent movies have elicited this reaction from you? I know I'm not the only Gen-Xer around here.)

The A-Team?

Right so it's like all of the Comic Book movies that sucked or the Transformers movies?

Yeah I pretty much have my own answer there.

I'm too young to get fired up over these things.

Give me 20 years and I'll come back to you.

I feel your pain, I cringed when I saw the news about the A-Team movie.
Why, oh why, must they slaughter something so good, so pure?
Hollywood, where they sacrifice all that is good...

Yeah. Only the most awesome thing from grade school turned into yet another cookie-cutter Hollywood cash-in-fest.

I mean don't get me wrong, I love Liam Neeson as much as any Fallout 3 fanboy, but as Hannibal Smith? Hell no! And anyone other than Mr. T playing BA Baracus is a travesty.

While it isn't related to my childhood as such, I'd like to suggest that we start an e-mail campaign to Justin Marks, the douchebag who wrote the screenplay for Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li. All e-mails should notify him that if he completely fucks the Shadow of the Colossus movie the same way he did his previous project, we will hunt him down and disembowel him.

I'm surprised they roped Liam Neeson into it. Though Liam Neeson usually manages to do a spectacular job no matter which pile of garbage he's in (See Star Wars Episode 1 for evidence).

I'm more optimistic.... wait, no, I'm with you. This is going to be painful. Almost as annoying as Del-Taco promoting Star Trek Online.

So would this be a bad place to say that I think the movie looks awesome and I plan on seeing it?

My childhood wasn't so far away biologically. Psychologically I like to think I am still enjoying it. A few things that I can complain about however-

I liked 151 pokemon, even the next 100 they added were ok, but imo- 250 is the max. There are just too many now.

They absolutely destroyed DBZ with that live action movie. I even decided to put my suspicion aside and gave it a chance, and had to turn it off about 10 minutes in, it was just so bad.

Whatever happened to the days where 8 year olds didn't have phones and facebook? I think we used to go and play with plastic toys or pretend we were dinosaurs at each others houses rather than dress up like cheap hookers and hang out at shopping centres.

That's all I've got for now...

So you think he was that great? Then you gotta see this:

Hell, I love the awesomeness of the A-Team as much as any other guy who has seen it, but I'll save my criticisms for when I actually watch the movie. I have to, for purely nostalgia's sake.

Yes, because most other escapists will say something like, "You suck." or "Rot in Hell."

Personally, if you want to see it, go ahead. I'm probably not because the best movie of all time was Steven Spielberg's 1941 with John Belushi.

Looks like I'll be the fan of the original*, that's looking forward to see this one. I have high hopes, they shot a jet with a tank, IN FREEFALL!

I do think it's strange for Mr. T to not have a cameo but do something like this:

Also, old news is old.

*hated the last season though

Mr. T was offered a cameo. He turned it down. I pity the poor fool who thinks ruining the childhood of Generation X is OK. Listen to Mr. T, kids.
