Ouch dude. Harsh.

But on the bright side, my old dog died of mouth cancer just before last Christmas so Ho Ho Ho and all that bollocks.

You could try drinking, but that doesn't really help with the sleeping well thing.

There's nothing you can do, though.
Either get used to feeling miserable until it passes, or stop feeling.
That would work except according to his post, he is 13 years old, a little early for the sauce.

No, that would never work.
Stop being retarded because drinking solves nothing.
Alcohol is a depressant, it would let him get his troubles of his chest without the restraints of social conduct. It would make him much sadder, allowing him to handle the decreased sadness after the alcohol wears off. It's similar to pain training.

I'm so sorry, hun. < 3 Losing a pet is always hard. Hang in there and things will get better, though I'm sure it doesn't seem like that now.

Remember your dog, he'll live on in your heart and mind. All the good times you had together.
Do not dwell on him, or you'll only get worse

Play some video games to get out some anger (if you have any) and keep your mind preoccupied. As hard as it is not to think about it, the best advice I can give is to not think about it. I can't remember much from the day that my dog died. There's a big hole there because I blocked it out. If you block out what happened it helps ease some of the pain.

This thread saddens me because of the fact that my dog is old and could be dying in the next year or two.

I'm sorry, but go back to school.
I can't believe I am hearing this.

Infact that goes for all of you.
You're suppose to be geeks and gamers like me, yet here you are jabbering about how one should drink to get rid of his pain. Where the hell did you all go wrong?
Bloody, gore, drugs,Guns,Boobs and cursing in video games. I think that's what happened.

My dog died this year. Had her since I was 5-6. She was amazing, all of my friends adored her. All I can say is that things do get better. But it does take a few weeks to get to grips with.

Ah mate, that sucks truly. The only thing you can do right now is just wait it out. Sorry for your loss.

What the hell is wrong with you? OP lost a companion he loved very much. Your posts are very insensitive.
Actually I'm being very considerate, in todays economic climate we cant be picky about where our next meal comes from. Personally I've been eating my neighbours pets for weeks, it's amazing what you can do with a bear trap and some cat food.

My ferret died a few weeks back. There's not much you can do to get over it really (well there is a bit, but you're 13 so I won't go into all that), but you'll get better over time.

My Golden Retriever Rio died yesterday... i really am pretty much breaking down right now. I had her since i was six, she was only 7 years old so yes im not that old or anything. I have really no idea how to deal with it right now... is there any advice anyone can give me? I feel terrible and im not sleeping well.
I empathize with you man. I too lost my Golden Retriever back in January, and I am still not quite the same. She was with me for most of my life, and we had raised her from a puppy. She was about 16 when she died, and it was very sudden.

Her name was Mandy. I miss her! People who don't own dogs will never understand how much like family they really are.

I also lost my Westie a few months ago as well. I miss her quite a lot as well. It not as difficult though since I wasn't as close to her as I was to Mandy. My Westie (Sadie) was originally my Grandmother's dog, but we kinda inherited her.
