Ok so first this.

Drinking is the last thing you want to do in a situation like this. In the end it only makes you feel worse. Which is counter-productive to its original purpose. You will be grieving for a while, it's healthy. You will feel better though, it may take a while, but one day you'll wake up and you'll feel less shitty about it, then it's just a case of feeling less shitty each day. For what it's worth you'll always have good memories.

You got the dog when you were six... And she was seven when she died - yesterday. Making you 13. But according to your profile you were born in 1990?

Probably to circumvent forum restrictions, by convention you usually have to have parental consent to sign up for a forum if under 13. Not sure if the Escapist does this, but I've seen it on a lot of other forums.
