When I was little I had a big dog named Toby. I loved him but the neighbors constantly complained about his barking at night and I think my parents were afraid that it might hurt me or something. So they told me that they sent him to a farm to be taken care of, I was sad but didn't think much of it. Later in high school some students were having a conversation with the teacher and somewhere along the line they joked around about the old farm trick where parents say they sent the dog to a farm but in reality they were putting him down.

I went to the bathroom and cried after overhearing them.

Jeez... well my condolences daystar. In my short lifetime I've had to go through two dog's deaths. I hope you had some fun with her before she passed away. I have a new one now, only two years old and things have been okay. Anyway I know you must be going through some hard times but just remember that things always get better eventually.
Thanks man.

This is the death of my second dog, the first was around 1998.

My third dog is on her lonesome now, but I can see a new puppy coming into the house in the future.

I love dogs, the years you spend with them are well worth the heart break.
I know, the one thing that always gets me is that I feel guilty getting a new one. It makes them feel expendable to me, if you know where I'm coming from. Sometimes while we were debating about getting a new dog I thought that I'd never want to get a dog again because I knew that it would be inevitable I'd have to go through that again.

Well, hope she went peacefully.

Last year my cat had to be put down due to stomach cancer. Still not quite over it.

And now im trying to tame 6 local feral cats. So far 2 will let me touch them and a third wont run away if i put a hand towards him.

Yeah, I can't help that we've got into a bad habit.

We got our second dog (Rosie) when my first dog was quite old, so when she died, Rosie went into depression, so we got another dog which perked her right up.

My third dog hasn't noticed yet and I'm not sure if she will, but is she does, we'll probably get another puppy, and the cycle continues. Old dogs dying, leaving the young ones to mourn then puppies brought in to cheer up the dogs left behind etc etc.

I think we may end up getting two puppies, to try and break the cycle.

Sorry to hear that man. I lost the only pet I've ever owned (a black cat named Jasper) a few years back now. Incidentally, your photo reminded me of a funny moment with Jasper. He had to ware one of those collars one time and he hated it. As soon as we got home it took him like 1 minute (he was a f*ucking smart cat) to figure out how to get it off. He just reverse himself into the gap behind the sofa and pulled it right off. Another time he had to go to the vets to get worming tablets, which he really hated, so he learned to wait until the vets back was turned before spitting them back out again.

Anyways, stay gold bro (and other cheesy condolences).

Sorry about that, couldnt stomach the thought of losing my pets. A cat and a bunny.

I met the dog that ended my fear of them. 7 years since that night he ran over to me, licked my hand and ran off at a party for the birth of my cousin. Fear gone, just like that. It's my uncle's dog, a lovely black and white spaniel. He's 11 now. And I'm 17 today. It's my birthday! :D

Well, there's not really much I can say other than that that really sucks, and that I know how you feel.

I guess i'll just join the list of people offering you their condolences then.

Jeez fella, sorry to hear that. For what it's worth you have my condolences. My family has a long running (longer than I've been knocking about anyway) tradition of keeping Border Collies, and it's always a wrench when they go.

Chin up mate.

The only experience I have had with pets dying is my old hamster who we lovingly named Fatso. He was quite hefty and lived much longer than any of us expected. He ended up catching wet-tail and we put him down. I didn't mourn for him because he hated my guts and would bite me whenever possible no matter how tight or loosely I held him.

However my family just got a Schnoodle puppy (Miniature schnauzer/poodle mix) two weeks ago. Her name is Molly and she is a little fuzzy ball of love who will charge into your lap if you so much as kneel on the floor. She's only 12 weeks old so I can't even imagine loosing her. Hell I just got back to college a few hours ago and I miss her already.

The people who understand more are the ones that had pets in theyr life...

I have a old dog, called Ricky... don't have photos though. He's a Black Labrador. Dam i love that dog since i was a teenager (when i got him), that little bastard has done so much all these years, that always left me with a smile.

Each time i am at teh table eating, he goes on next to me and does those dam little puppy eyes... can't resist it. I remember when i was a kid, and he would cry in the night, i would sit next to hit, petting his head.

Now he's old and can barely climb stairs... but heck... has long has he's in here, i would make sure both get great memories...

Cute little thing :D

You're in for a treat. Nothing quite compares to owning a dog, they're man's best friend for a reason.

My condolences.

I'd also like to pay my respects to my lost pets.
My cat Passe-Poil who ran onto oncoming traffic.
My chihuahua Peanut, who was euthanized after becoming deaf and blind at eleven years old.
And last but not least, my beagle Snoopy who ate an entire wool sock.

Resquiescat in pace.

This is probably really uncalled for but it reminds me of "the cycle of kitties" Anyway I hope if you do get a new dog that you make sure to love and spend as much time with them as you can. Did you have a particular breed in mind?

Oh wow, haven't seen Home Movies in a long time.

Well my third dog, Sapphire, is a Weimaraner, here she is.

They're a lovely breed, so we may end up getting a couple of puppies.

I will call one of them Ammy and will crush all who oppose me.
