My feelings towards gamers with "Better" conditions AND opinion on piracy

Thanks for all the advice, Thou I feel like i have to clarify some things here.

Firstly im 16 and live in sweden, I speak fluint english and read it as good as I read swedish. My grammar needs work i'll admit that.

Secondly I don't realy prioritise 360 games but think of it like this, I can buy that PC game this month and mabey it will work on my pc OR i could buy that 360 game and download the PC game and have a look at it first, Then mabey its up for next month or something.

I'll admit that piracy is hurting the game industry to a degree BUT, The game quality is conciderably worse these days, I mean i just played Republic Commando and that game exells in every aspect exept for the eye candy, Thats a poor trade. (Gameplay/Story/legnth better than graphics Indeed)

Also i have played games sience age 6 or something and I remember back then when games were cheaper. But then again at that age your parents could just buy something cheap and ou would still go "Awesome". I remember that game "Bouncer" ahhh good beat'em up that game.

personally i dislike piracy but i can see where you're coming from. i think piracy is fine aslong as you cant actually afford the game in the first place but if you're family is rich or you make decent money you really have no reason to pirate games infact all you're doing is hurting the company that made the game. the only time i ever pirated a game was with black and white 2 i had already bought the game but i lost my key code for it so really all i did was get a keygen for it just so i could paly it again

You're hurting developers either way by not buying the game; your socioeconomic standing doesn't really change that.

Which I think was his point. He can't afford the game, so he isn't going to buy it anyways Either way the developers aren't getting any money.

Pirating the game will form some bad habits, however.

Just to add. There's an episode of South Park (named "Christian Rock Hard") where The boys all form a band and download some music from the internet for inspiration. They get busted instantly (SWAT teams through the windows) and the cop takes them to some musician's houses to see how they're now living a life of SEMI-luxury because of people downloading their tunes.

You can look at this with the video game industry in mind. EA will make a ridiculous amount of money from their recent SPORE releases even though people aren't just downloading it due to being broke, but are MAKING A POINT of downloading it (and happily telling people they downloaded - instead of the typical smaller number of people admitting to it).

I'm not saying everyone should download everything all of the time, just in moderation. They're still going to make ultra dollar, just not ultra-mega-super dollar!

That's not really true. If pirating wasn't an option and you really wanted a game you couldn't afford, the right thing to do would be to save up for it until you *could* afford it.

No. I'm going to say exactly what you told us not to pull. Videogames are luxury entertainment items and piracy is not justifiable just because you're bored. If it was a situation where maybe you were going to die or endanger your life in any way by not being able to buy or otherwise play a videogame (and I'd like to hear ideas on how that would come about) than the piracy could be justifiable. However as I said before it is really luxury entertainment.

On the note of better privelaged gamers, yes there are some spoiled but if you look around your city chances are you will find a job that no one else wants to do, or easier than that just get a paper route or something easy of that like. I personally was running on a computer that would've been considered average 7 years ago, got it in 2001, so I know the bit about having a terrible computer but even that doesn't justify piracy.

No you can't. If you ordered the dvd's so the creators get fucking paid and then (THEN) downloaded the fansubbed eps then you'd be able to do in good conscience. Ever wondered why a lot of series don't get translated at all?

Because the majority of English Dubs suck and any real anime fan will learn to read at a speed of at least 10 words per minute in order to be able to make use of subtitles?

I also stated im a addict remember? I get reactions simelar to drugs when i cant touch a computer or game related device for several days, Trust me it's not fun.

Then ill just go study japanese then and watch raws? But seriously if it's on youtube/veoh you can't blame me for watching, Also some (if not many) animes aint licenced in europe/US so ill take those free fansubs any day.
