Good stuff... hmmmm...

Well I sustained an injury in the army and am being moved to a non-combat role for a few weeks. I'll be posted back to the bullets eventually, but hey, take whatever comes.

So in order to share my happiness I thought I'd make this topic. Why does your life rock? It doesn't have to be perfect, but what in your life is really really great right now?
Congratulations on living the dream, so to speak!

My own life is pretty darn good right now for a number of reasons.
[li]Recently got away from abusive parents.[/li]
[li]Taking care of myself in my own apartment at the age of 17.[/li]
[li]Well respected among those who know me.[/li]
[li]Doing great at school.[/li]

It's good to be alive.

I got the results for my year 12 exams last month and ended up ranking in the top 15% of the country. Every university I applied for sent me letters of offer to study a science and engineering double degree. I've chosen my university, I've sorted out accommodation staying on campus, everything's ready and I start in 9 days. I'm excited and nervous at the same time but I think it's going to be quite an experience. For the past 2 months I've been on holidays kicking back playing video games and picking up on my instruments. Right now life is pretty damn good for me. If I can settle into uni smoothly and stay on top of my work and meet some new people I think I'm going to have a good 2012. In 5 years time I'll be an engineer and a scientist.

I am rather well endowed which I find always makes life better.
I get quite well paid for a easy ass job.
My ex who really fucked me over has come sniffing around again wanting to get back together and I have taken great joy in screwing her around.
And I am living the dream of being a dirty old man with a young girlfriend. I am nearly 30 and am fucking a 16 year old[footnote]16 is the legal age here and thats all I care about.[/footnote] with D cups.

Yup, lifes pretty damn good. However I believe theres a cloud for every silver lining so yeah. Something bads gonna happen soon and its gonna be big.

Hmm, not allowed to mention about how my life sucks? Well, I don't really like to think negative anyway so okay.

I've got more independence than I could've ever thought to have at my age! (19) If I want a beer, game, kebab - i sodding go out and buy it.
I'm finally "good" at guitar!
I can afford a new computer soon!
While I've not had a job in ages and I'm regularly applying, my scope of where to apply is broadening!
I'm getting better and better at driving every week!
I've found beer that I like!
I'm actually doing really, really well at this hidden degree I'm doing (foundation forensic computing with 3rd year full BSc); and it was local, after a history of doing crap at further education!
I've got a career planned out and it's awesome, really really cool AND achievable!
I'm living at home and have access to a car and a student loan and attending college and university and spend hours applying for jobs; yet still have time to drink, play guitar, play games, revise, do coursework and then some - every week!
My social contact has declined so much in a year I would say my friend count is in the 20's or less, let alone the triple digits it used to be. That's what leaving school and being naturally socially inert does to you, despite being very sociable when out. - sorry, fingers slipped.

I would ask for no one to mess this up by going on about how their life is nothing but misery and pain, but frankly I know the Escapist community far too well by now for that.
It's like asking them not to grow hair.

I just woke up 5 minutes ago, I don't have much work to do at the moment, and there's an off-license just up the road. Only downside is something in my room keeps making weird noises and I have no idea what it is.

My life is a dark abyss

I actually think my life is the best it's ever been. I have an amazing boyfriend, I've finally resumed school after a 2 year absence, and my mother is no longer stealing money from under my nose. I can actually start saving for that death ray I've been wanting since forever.

I'm so happy I'm farting rainbows and puking sunshine, no joke. I think I need to get that checked out.

Braggart. There's no need for that.

Well, just to remain somewhat on-topic, my life has taken somewhat of a turn upwards recently. I've had exceptional academic success recently, to the point where I'm being treated like a bit of a guru on the C programming language by my classmates. This is reassuring - I'm finally doing something that I can succeed with. I do have a job, crappy and all as it is, and as much as the manager wants me gone, I do still have some money coming in, with more of a possibility of getting another job as I progress through my degree. No girlfriend, obviously; that's something that will never happen, but once I get through the abysmal ruination of Valentine's Day, that won't be so bothersome either.
That post was very nearly positive, I think I'm in shock.

OP: Life is good. I'm halfway through my Masters, which is encouraging. I love the people I live with, there's no petty drama amongst my friends and my boyfriend is awesome. Drinks and merriment are had on a regular basis.
I did lose my job this week though so that's a bit of a set back. Hopefully I'll find another one soon.

well, I actually got to sleep at a more-or-less appropriate time last night as such I woke up early without feeling tired, I've been up for about 5 hours and it's only 12:34 instead of coming on 3 o'clock, like usual, just because of that I feel pretty good today, also I'm 21 tomorrow, I have absolutely no plans, I don't drink, and the legal drinking age here in England is 18 anyway so a 21st birthday doesn't seem that significant to me but what I'm going to do instead is just get a few friends over and eat truckloads of unhealthy food that I wouldn't otherwise because of my diet, on which I lost over 50 ibs and can FINALLY fit into medium-sized T-shirts again, which is awesome, Valentines day holds no significance for me as I have no girlfriend but I'm relatively comfortable being single at the moment so I'm not gonna complain,

I have a week off college to look foreward to, during which I intend to get back into the gym, which I don't have time for because of college and friends, a few friends and me are gonna get back into doing comedy soon, I might try out that new stand-up routine I've been writing if I can get a gig, I'm just sitting in my room right now having some me-time, best thing, I'm physically disabled with cerebal paulsey which on one hand means it's unlikely I'll ever fulfil my lifelong dream of being a professional wrestler but it does mean I get money from the government and an excuse to still live with my parents at 21 to avoid having to pay bills,

also I have awesome friends...and less awesome friends but mostly the awesome ones

so yeah, despite pretty grim future career prospects as I have ADHD and as such have a HORRIBLE attention span and as a result, poor grades (though I blame half of that on crap teachers) despite all that I think my life is pretty good right now

yeah I'm in a good place

I'm in the best shape I've ever been in, and I'm improving at a near-constant rate. I'm able to train in mixed martial arts 4 days a week at an awesome MMA club. I've hosted radio shows on my college's radio station, done voice-over work for Halloween commercials (to be played on said station), gone rock climbing a few times, endured many, many brutal sessions of sparring, strength and conditioning training, and won a few medals/trophies in jiu jitsu competitions. I love the taste of food that I make for myself.

My job pays me well enough that as long as I'm careful with my money, I can live comfortably, and move out of my parents' house if I needed to. My job is steady (work at the same place every day, start and finish work at the same times), and I have enough time after work to cook for myself, work out, take care of any errands that need doing, and sometimes spend some quality time with my PS3 collection.

The biggest problem of my life would be my worries as to how long before my 13-year old car becomes too expensive to repair (which I could afford to replace if needed), and what I'm looking forward to most in life is the possibility of getting into amateur kickboxing matches. And possibly getting into a relationship.

Liverpool just lost to Manchester United so I have nothing to be happy about!

But maybe tomorrow I'll feel better about my life.
To make a list of things that usually makes me think I'm doing good:
I have a job
I'm healthy
I keep in touch with my friends
I'm looking forward to were I'll get a place to start my studies in a few months
My economy is alright
I'm going to Liverpool next month to check out the game against Wigan

But right now I can't feel too good.
I'm a big fan of my team and my mood is reflected, on matchdays, depending on how my team is doing.

Let's see.....the girl I love, who loves me, has a boyfriend(who she also loves) who is about to ship out to Marine bootcamp on Monday(...or TOMORROW!??). They're going to attempt the long distance thing, but she has told me multiple times that she knows it probably won't work out, and she's invited me to go traveling Europe with her for 1/4 of a year. Just the two of us.
We have problems not crossing lines when we're together for mere hours.... So yea, 3 months? Pffft. The only reason we only sporadically hang out for hours at a time is BECAUSE she's trying to avoid temptation and keep him from being paranoid. Unless something goes horribly wrong, she's mine.
It takes an awful lot of restraint not to gleefully bounce off the walls when she's around and instead respect her current misery.

Also, I live with the most beautiful girl I've ever encountered (and very probably the most beautiful girl the majority of people have encountered). She's one of my best friends. I've known her since we were like 6 and we've been friends since we were in middle school. I took her in when the rest of her world had betrayed her and she nearly killed herself (probably the most panic I've ever felt trying to find her that night), and now I've helped turn her life around and consequently it's a lot like I live in a Disney movie. She's always giggling, joking dancing and singing around the place. I even got her to quit smoking and hugely cut back on drinking.
It's immensely satisfying to fall asleep with her curled up in the bed next to me. It's pretty much the most calming thing in the world to me to be able to lay there and watch her sleep, knowing that all is well and she is safe. (it's just a little bit frustrating too, as you might imagine, since I've basically had a crush on her slightly longer than we've been friends :p )

I quit my soul-sucking job in December, and since I generally spend very little money I happen to have probably enough for me AND my roommate to live on for about a year. My biggest problem, currently, is trying to find a job I don't hate.

Oh, and my first love, who happens to be best friends with my roommate and probably the person I have the deepest respect for, is finally going to be done with school in May and moving back into town where we can actually hang out with her more than twice a year.

What else?

"I am rather well endowed which I find always makes life better."
^Oh, yea...that too. Of course at 6'1" I'm just fairly large all around. :p

ALSO, The Avengers movie is coming out soon!!!!!!!!!!!!! *is totally amped up about it*

I'm going to be a Doctor in less than a year, there's no (important) exams in my final year, so short of not turning up, I can't fail. Kind of scary. But next year I'll finally start making money and working.

This, just the other day I was like "shit that movie is going to out in less than three months".
