If you looked at our chat's, you'd see more than talking about the series. You'd see a group of people, with one thing in common, talk about anything and everything. From favourite youtube vids to worst meals, it's not always about ponies. Hell, one time two members talked about the undercurrent of communism in "The Lion King"
I maintain that the parallels between The Lion King and The Russia Revolution are startling. An elite monarchy ruling a father knows best state is otherthrown by a despotic everyone is equal state which morphs into a tyranical post revolution state patrolled by secret police.

I finished watching all the my little pony episodes last night. After reading this letter I'll probable finish the brony transformation and join a mlp forum. I think ill start with rainbowdash.net
Just come join us in the usergroup

OT: It was a good read but I see so many examples of tolerating that the hate is completely overwhelmed. Three examples of hate is actually a very good record for a fandom/community.

We're so glad to see so many of you lovely Ponies here tonight,
and we would especially like to welcome all the representatives of Equestria's
law enforcement community that have chosen to join us here in the
Pony Hotel Ballroom at this time. We sincerely hope that you all enjoy
the show and please remember, Ponies, that no matter who you are, and
whatever you do to live, thrive and survive, there are still some
things that make us all the same:
you, me, him, them -- everypony, people, everypony!

Everypony needs somepony
Everypony needs somepony to love
Someone to love (Someone to love)
Sweetheart to miss (Sweetheart to miss)
Sugar to kiss (Sugar to kiss)
I need you, (you) you, you
I need you, (you) you, you
I need you, (you) you, you in the morning
I need you, (you) you, you when my soul's on fire

Sometimes I feel, I feel a little Pinkie Pie,
When my pony mistreats me, I never never have a place to hide, I need you!

Sometimes I feel, I feel a little Fluttershy,
When my pony mistreats me, I never never have a place to hide,
I need you, (you) you, you
I need you, (you) you, you

You know people when you do find somepony, hold that pony, hold that brony,
love him, hold him, squeeze her, please her, hold, squeeze and
please that pony, give 'em all your love, signify your feelings with
every episode you watch, because it's so important to have that special
somepony to watch, kiss, miss, squeeze, and please.

Everypony needs somepony
Everypony needs somepony to love
Someone to love (Someone to love)
Sweetheart to miss (Sweetheart to miss)
Sugar to kiss (Sugar to kiss)
I need you, (you) you, you
I need you, (you) you, you
I need you, (you) you, you in the morning
I need you, (you) you, you when my soul's on fire

(It was far too easy to find this.)
That song reminds me of something... I see your ponified song and I raise you... MOAR ponified song!

It was twenty years ago today,
Since the ponies came along to play
They've been going in and out of style
But they're guaranteed to raise a smile
So may I introduce to you
The act you've known for all these years
The My Little Pony friendship club

We're the My Little Pony friendship club
We hope you will enjoy the show
The My Little Pony friendship club
Sit back and watch the ponies go
The My Little Pony, The My Little Pony
The My Little Pony friendship club

It's great to be a brony
It's certainly a thrill
You're such a wonderful fandom
We'd like to go to Ponyville
To Ponyville we will go

I don't really want to stop the show
But I thought that you might like to know
That the pony's going to sing a song
And they want you all to sing along
So let me introduce to you
The one and only Pinkie Pie
And The My Little Pony friendship club

It's not quite All you need is love but the Beatles were mentioned first after all! :3

Not when the Hyenas are banished from the pride lands for no discernible reason. The idle monarchy (lions) talk about how everything has a place in the circle of life and then banish an entire underclass to a wasteland where abundant food is like a pipe dream. They are so hungry that they fantasize of food and chew bones. They overthrow the entire state; what did scar promise them? "Stick with me and you'll never go hungry again". Seriously watch this clip and notice what happens when he says that, EVERY hyena that hears him immediately falls into rank and file and joins the revolution:

Wow, I never looked at it like that. I guess growing up with something makes it hard to shake the impressions it gave you as a child. Though admittedly I haven't seen the full movie in a few years.
That clip sent me on a nice little nostalgia trip though, feel like watching it again now. If only we didn't only own it on VCR...

Now find comparable undertones in MLP and I'll be impressed :p

Well, nothing in Ponyville works by itself: Rainbow Dash has to push in rainclouds, Applejack has to grow the food for everyone to eat, and so on and so forth, which is a lot like socialism. The Everfree Forest, where everything "happens on its own" and that this is "unnatural" suggests that the Ponies fear personal freedom.

Also, have you noticed how the episode "Bridle Gossip" (the one with Zecora and the Ponies having various hilarious things happen to them) mimics the plot of the book "To Kill a Mockingbird"? All the ponies fear and ostracize the African "pony" who is reclusive, so Zecora is both Tom Robinson and Boo Radley at the same time. Applebloom is like Scout, the small child who thinks with better clarity and understanding than the "grown-up" Ponies that all act irrationally, and she tries to help Boo Radley. The ponies are also all quick to blame "Tom Robinson" for a misfortune that befell them, even though it was their own fault. Granted, they just all had a practical joke played on them, rather than raped the farmer's daughter, but it can't parallel it EXACTLY.

You''ll regret asking that :), it's clear you aren't around too much in our user group. We have a Civil war raging that is only ever stopped by the thread of Impulse's nuclear deterrant. We're split among those who support the tyrant Celestia, Those who think Luna is the Earth Pony messiah and The communist pony party who believe all classes should be equal.

Here's an image on it:

And here is an in-depth analysis on how the Earth ponys are all in the service industry, the pegasi mainly laze around and Unicorns have all the positions of responsibility.
http://www.overthinkingit.com/2011/02/24/my-little-pony-political-economy/
There is ample evidence that Equestria is already highly stratified, and the mantra of ?friendship is magic? is nothing more than a mythic-religious creed designed to perpetuate false consciousness among the ponies. For confirmation, take a look at the professions of the main cast. The two earth-ponies work in agriculture and the service industry. Of the pegasi, Fluttershy can be classified as a naturalist and Rainbow Dash aspires to be a pro athlete.

In contrast, the two unicorns work in the professions that have the most cultural and political cachet.

Haha, no I haven't spent much time in the group chat, but I have seen that image before. I've also seen one with the cows on the bottom tier.

I think it's pushing it a bit much to apply Pinkie Pie to that formula though :p
"Whimsical party organiser" isn't really service or labour.

Also, didn't Twilight Sparkle used to live in an ivory tower [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ivory_Tower] before Princess Celestia made her go to Ponyville, suggesting academic elitism? Even now, her dwelling is on the high floor of the town library, which apparently no one but her uses. Even now she's trying to be academically elite.

She makes the trite, empty entertainment to amuse the proles, like the cheap porn novels in Nineteen Eighty-Four or the useless gadgets and distractions in Brave New World, or even MTV and Dancing With the Stars in real life. And she stuffs us full of sweets and cupcakes to keep us happy and placated. This is as much lowly grunt work that is the foundation of society as anything else.

We are all cogs in the machine of society, even in the whimsical cartoon societies.

Have you seen their origin stories in the episode that they are telling the CMC how they got their marks?
She grew up on a farm and along with her parents farmed rocks
The fact the other ponies think shes a bit brain fried seems to give her special dispensation.

Have you ever watched a pony give birth? It's a beautiful spectacle.

If the show gets more ambitious, there should be an episode about one of the ponies about to have a foal.

Wow. Brony got balls.

I wonder how many Trolls did send him a mail? Not too many I'd be willing to think. That was a REALLY smarty and ballsy tactic, though.

My fucking god. I had a problem with the furry culture constantly being in people's faces over their fascination with their 'Peace is the furry' stuff trying to act like the furry thing changes them as a person. But that... that really beats it. I was only mildly annoyed by Furries doing that.
Dude, it's a fucking show. Your little group chat isn't a 'culture', it's just a little group who talk about the show sometimes.

I seriously wish people would just watch the show, talk about it with their friends, and leave it at that. It's just a fucking TV Show, if any other TV Show was obsessed over to these levels I'd have the same complaint.

You're a bit late to the pony-hate hoedown, sport.
