If it was free to play, yeah probably just to have a look, if only just for shits and giggles.

no way i don't even like the show so why would i then
Why post then? Are you that starved for attention?

I would only play it if it was like DC Universe and I got to make a fancharacter who gets to do absolutely jack shit. So it'd be like the opposite of a Mary Sue self insert fanfiction, but with more disappointment.

Alternativly, if Dr. Whoof got some Timelord-y side quests, that'd be funny as hell.
because he asked a question that i felt like answering it's a free world you know?

and anyway i'm aloud to post wahtever i like (as long as it's in the rules)

I would be open to it, but I would be worried about the kind of people I would play with. My guess is it would be a split between small children and 'net denizens who spend too much time making MLP:FIM trailer mash ups. Either way it would be quite unique I think. :)

I don't usually play mmos for litte girls....

But when I do, MLP:FiM the MMO is the exception.

Seriously I'd give it a try with some friends for laughs, then likely move on. Unless the mmo is like the show in that MLP ends up being an awesome mmo that looks all kiddish but is actually suitable (and fun) for all.

This.

Can't imagine it be like the show though. Hasbro can't even get the toys right.

I don't think I would. I'm not into kitsch so wouldn't get past the aesthetics to discover if the gameplay was any good.

No, I'll not play it.
Would you like a batman MMO where you play as one of the many villains in the series and... NO.
Would you like a Fullmetal Alchemist MMO where you play as a state alchemist in pursuit of...NO.
Would you like a Soccer MMO where you play as a soccer player and work your way through...NO.
Stop talking about this nonesense.
Hm, I would play all of those myself. They all actually sound like great ideas to me.

OT: I'd give it a try, and I might even enjoy it if the game had the same kind of MLP community I see around here. The community is a big part of what makes a MMO good or bad in my opinion, so it would already have a big advantage compared to others.

Yes but only if it like Animal Crossing. If the MMO was in any other form then chances are I wouldn't like in term of game lasting appeal (like grinding stuff for getting cloths were the pony are generally have no clothing and there are rare items).

There's a playable demo for anyone who wants to try (Link in video description). Glitchy but awesome :)

Holy crap that is amazing. I was half joking before but MLP does have a visual style that would translate well into an mmo if its with the kind of visuals shown in the vid.

Mmmm... You know this could actually work. Starting to imagine a MLP mmo would be a platform(for quests rather then it being kill 10 of something and loot their corpses it would be a spyro the dragonesque platform level) game with heavy emphasis on exploration and trade/commerce.
Pvp could come in the form of cloud racing or just racing and competitions in general rather then direct fights.

Oh, definitely. I've actually been following the progress of the one in development by fans right now. Any MLP game would be fun to play, even if it were just cute and simple.

If it had decent production values and was made with plenty of love for the series, and, y'know, fun and funny to play, sure~

Cheap cash in? Naaah~

Nintendo's shown more than enough times you can make games that appeal to youngsters and adults alike, though. (Admit it, Kirby was the first cute pink blob of sugary goodness you all liked)
