As I said. It's beginning to annoy king and queen tedium at this point.
However, very few threads on this forum about MLP are made by the fans We keep our discussion in the MLP group. And there's no reason to enter threads discussing something you hate.
I don't agree it's especially well animated. It's very fluid and the palette is always well chosen and contrast always works, however I'm currently watching Noein at the moment. That is well animated. Put the two shows side by side and MLP:FiM has less detail per episode than some of the frames in Noein have.
However I think is the show is awesome. It's all about the characters, whom I think are unique and well realised, the stories, unique and compelling that allow younger audiences to come to conclusions of ethics on their own but keep the older audience engaged, and humour that is top notch by western cartoon standards without relying on old tropes and niche culture references. There is plenty of cliche humour for everyone to enjoy, and nothing in it rivals the satires of Socrates but it's well written and each character delivers their own brand well. The micro-culture that has burgeoned around it is full of great people. It has become a beacon for people tired of the dark and embittered place the internet seems to have become over the years, where someone with something positive to say felt overwhelmed by trolls and the ignorant, to find other like minded people. While it does attract trolls in itself, the community are such a group of people that trolls whither and die quickly. The approach, and I quote, "we'll tolerate and love the shit out of you" is very effective.

Let me be blunt, the very nature of your question sort predicts the response you get. If it's a serious irony thing, like say certain aspects of the Goth movement and old-school Pokemon, your not going to get people SAYING it's intended ironically because that makes it less amusing to get people's response. Indeed the very nature of the gag is to insist, "yes we do indeed love this... now excuse me I have to go watch "My Little Pony" while softly playing some horror core metal in the backround"... of course in such a statement saying your going to softly play metal kind of gives it away.Sky Captanio said:

Sadly "Encyclopedia Dramatica" sort of sold out, or else I'd refer you to their old pages on "My Little Pony" prior to this. MLP has been a sort of joke on the internet before the whole "Friendship is Magic" thing, with sites dedicated to fans and collectors being popular targets for certain trolls who would get in there as serious fans and then gradually start talking about how "My Little Pony" dolls were being manufactured by the Khymer Rouge to finance Pol Pot's activities and things that were even worse. One of the old RPGA jokes was one year for April Fool's day they were claiming that TSR (or maybe it was WoTC) was going to be releasing a "My Little Pony" RPG, complete with people posting how psuched they were and displays of dippointment when it turned out to be untrue
Speaking entirely for myself, I will say that I think the old "My Little Pony" cartoons (with Megan) were probably superior to "Friendship Is Magic".
So basically, there are "Pony" fans on the Internet, but do I belive the mania is sincere... well let's just say this is a joke that has been old long before the current show.

Unfortunately I'm sure everyone, pony fans and haters alike, is just too busy sighing and bracing themselves for the possibility of another 14 pages of arguing to the tone of "MLP is for young girls!/No they're not!" It does harden one's skin to the fact that some people are genuinely unaware of the show's existence, though we are able to at least give the near form-letter response within the first few posts before any major brouhaha commences.airrazor7 said:
