Burglars are strange things. When I was younger burglars broke into my families home and took the car keys (and the car of course) as well as a bottle of whisky. The thing is, that the whisky was kept on a shelving area in the same room as a dvd player and all sorts of other technological stuff, but none of that was taken.

He was then found 3 days later asleep in the car... moron.

and to discuss?
Even if there is nothing to discuss, going into a thread just to say that is much more pointless, and unlike the OP, is actually against the rules.
No I was asking what we were meant to discuss it was a serious question
Fair enough, I'm just used to all the people who jump on topics straight away.

That is bad.

I'm sorry, I just dont see how this can be a discussion
Discuss your own burglary experiences? Putting in effort goes a long way.

I had the police followup with some witnesses and potential leads. I think they have a suspect now. Its a small town and hes a known criminal. Also, the guy from Broadview security just left. My home security system is operational now. If it gets set off, police should be at my house within 5 minutes.

my DS was stolen, but I saw that guy a few weeks later and beat the crap out of him (the only reason he could steal it the first time is because he had goons with him) and my psp was stolen once (bastard broke into my locker but it taught me not to leave it in there and it convinced me to get an upgraded PSP) as for the DS I never saw it again...

I bought a new Slim 120 GB PS3 I'll update again if the cops find out who did it, or hopefully, find my stolen property.

Well the PS3 is like a scapegoat, you know the PS3's ability etc. but computers can either be great or crap, so feel lucky they didn't take the chance.

Unlucky, regardless, hope you had insurance.

EDIT: I forgot, I bet games will be blamed for this.

And how did these two guys know u had a ps3 and 200 dollars in your drawer? Or did they ransack the entire house? Cause if they broke in and went right off and only took those two things i think your sister has some explaining to do. Usually when something this serious would happen you would expect am actual phone call... Not something as impersonal as a one sentence text.

Edit, if it is ever used and logged in online i would guess the IP adress would be trackable through your psn account. If of course the police put any sort of effort towards retrieving it at all. =/

Back when the Wii was still rare and a sight to see and all that stuff, someone smashed in the window in my current bedroom, stormed through the house, stole my dad's laptop and my Wii. They also were apparently trying to kick in our back door, which is basically steel and plexiglass. I guess we got pretty lucky that was the only thing they stole, and that they didn't steal our identities since everything billing related was on that laptop...Still, though. I got a new Wii recently, since my parents like the casual games, but I don't think I'm going to get good games and get comfortable with having it around, though, just because my image of it is somewhere between annoying and making me want to break someone's neck.

It's terrible that people do stuff like that, though. :|

The reason why the PC wasn't stolen was because it weighs 8 times more, and can't be carried away descretely, and probably isn't easy to sell on eBay.

Judging by the fact that they didn't take any of the games, they're either idiots looking to make a dishonest buck, or selfish bastards who wanted to play 50 cent games without spending $400.
Wow, talk about racist?
...What in the WORLD was racist about that?

That's kinda rude don't ya think? It's a forum, he wants to share that he's got a problem, it's gaming so it's not off topic, and really now, there's plenty to discuss.

Sorry to hear that man, that's been a constant fear of mine to have someone get into this house and just ruin everything.I've built a big collection of classic and new games that if was stolen I'd be somewhat devastated. Not to mention my PC containing years of work on it.

Must..hold...laughter at the stupidity of these guys. I mean if i was staring at umteen thousand dollars worth of gaming devices I'd have partners around to make sure this stuff was being handled correctly because I'm just that evil

I would have just jacked your pc. If they were smart they would have brought a screw driver and just jacked the ram and graphics card, hard drive, or the SSD if you have one (both very small and easy to steal, not too mention god damn expensive.) This would require computer knowledge though, perhaps I should become a crappy house burglar. It would sure make my PC upgrading alot cheaper.

I've heard of people doing that at parties, stealing the ram, videocard and a hard drive or two while no ones looking.
