My Valentines Day. Yours?

Well, me and my boyfriend went to the shops, bought a bag of food, crisps, chocolate, sandwiches, then we sat and watched harry potter 3 and a bit of 4. He got bored and we both fell asleep. It was alright. I'd just really would have liked it if he actually turned off his computer for a change when we are meant to be having us time.

I'm currently single and I was in work the next morning and playing footy with friends in the afternoon so it was an early night ahead of a busy weekend for me regardless of whether in was Valentines Day or not.

Well, went to classes, I finished earlier than her so I went to town and bought some red roses for her (because I am not original), I waited in the cold and rain for the bus to come into town, she got a different bus, I met her in Costa.

Then gave her a ring and a bracelet, and The Rights of Man (because she loves politics and classical books), she gave me chocolate and a wallet, we ate Hot Pot in the Chinese place that speaks no English, watched the Monument's Men together, bought some food in the supermarket together, went home and watched Harry Potter, gave her a massage, slept.

The next day, we went to the theatre to watch some dance groups perform, which she enjoyed and I watched... for her.

I went to the cinema with a mate and he decided to turn up with a lady. Fun fun.
But I bought uncharted 2 and 3 for a tenner so that's not bad.

Went to class and was picked up by my crush after I was let out. Hung around my apartment as I tried to find what I wanted to give him but ended up not finding it. (A sticker)

Later we went out to a local bar and got really really good food there. We (I?) then decided to not go to the Lego Movie and went to his place where I attempted to play Outlast. I ended up jumping and messing up his external speakers. >.> He surprised me with some suuuuper tasty toffee!

Then we put in The Rocky Horror Picture Show and fell asleep.

The perfect amount of plans, really. I had a lot of fun without being overwhelmed. :>

Found out that my parents had to put my dog down because he had cancer...spent all of Friday night and most of Saturday weeping inconsolably. Glad my roommate left on Friday. Cancelled my dinner with my crush because didn't feel up to it.

Fair to say, I still hate February 14.

I got into the Titanfall beta, so I guess that EA was my valentine. Other than that I just played the occasional spurt of Borderlands 2 before crying my lonely self to sleep watching some more Breaking Bad.

Went to work. Blasted rust in the bilge of my submarine, primed it then painted it bilge gray. Put waterway gray paint on waterways. Slathered machinery gray paint on machinery. Did that from dawn to dusk. Went home and watched Dexter while drinking until I blacked out.

Still better than last year.

I worked fourteen hours. We were shorthanded because one guy was sick. I was sick also but had to go to work anyway (joys of being the boss). We did 30% more business than we normally would have, because that's what happens when you're shorthanded. Couldn't call anyone in to help because it was #$*(%ing Valentine's Day and everyone who wasn't already working has a girlfriend.

After that I ran a snowblower for about two hours in the freezing dark, ate a half can of beans that represented my first food since before starting in the morning, had one more liquid shit (my fourth that day), collapsed in utter exhaustion in my eternally cold and lonely bed, and failed to find restful sleep.

Pretty sure there's a shitty emo poem in there somewhere.

OT: This was the second time I've ever done anything for valentine's day. I've either always been busy... Or more often been the forever alone guy.

First time, I went to a movie and ate at Ed Debevics. Was a bad idea! I got made fun of by the waiters. (Who could have seen that coming?) XD

Several single friends (and few non-single friends in long-distance relationships) and I gathered in a dorm to play Cards Against Humanity and eat nachos. Then some of them made cookies. We ended the evening by eating chocolate-covered strawberries and watching the Princess Bride. Best Valentines Day in a while.

I went to the gym (legs and back/backside), drank cola and played some games with my friends (Smite, then some Dark Souls (singleplayer)). It was a nice day =)

I'm in a pseudo-long-distance, but it happened to fall during reading week so I got to see her! Yay
Nice dinner at one of my favourite restaurants of her favourite style, followed by movie at my place and lying in bed together for a while. No sex, because we'll just say our relationship is complicated.

We went backpacking at Lost Maples State Natural Area. I made a gourmet (for trail food) steak dinner for the night and then retired to the tent with Wine and Spiced Apple Cider with a dash of brandy. It was fabulous.
