We Norwegians have the Norse gods, we have the vikings, we have death metal. When something like this happens it can only be one thing, Thor the thunder god is coming.. and he's going to be bad ass! Screw your petty "God" or "Allah", the Norse gods is the real deal! Let me see your god do something like that, in modern days! They are preparing Ragnarök.. nuff said.

Here [http://www.barentsobserver.com/failed-russian-missile-visible-over-northern-norway.4663494.html] is some real stuff in English
Bullshit. Quoting Funk here : How exactly does a failed missile result in a perfectly spiral twelve-minute light show?
Seriously, I'd love to know (I mean it).
Simple. It doesn't. Even if there was a failed missle launch, and even if it could make an image like that, there is no way that a failed missle launch could A) Cause that kind of perfect spiral for 12 fucking minutes, without changing into some crazy course and B) explain the light coming off the ground like that. Just no way.

not saying that this is THE explanation, but it seems rather likely that this could happen. And why does it need to change course? If it's just leaking fuel or something it doesn't need to change course, and if you didn't know already bullets spin. That makes them stable
A spinning bullet breaks the air better, and missles have guidance systems so they don't ususally need to spin....I suspect the spinning helps trajectory a little like a bicycle wheel spinning help to keep the bicycle upright, angular momentum.Like a gyroscope
From what I read about bullets, it seems like a spinning rockets is much more stable than a non spinning one.. but they don't usually spin 'cause it's not needed with modern guiding system, but this was a faulty rocket.. so it did spin.
Of course non of this is THE explanation, it's just what I personally think might have happend.
