"Agh... my eyes..." Justin muttered, covering his eyes as he thought of something to say that wasn't sacrilegious, "It is way too bright in here." Digging out a pair of small sunglasses, he quickly put them on and glanced around.

"Wow... this place is amazing."

"Seriously, why is it so damn bright?" Eryn squinted, looking at the tree that held the silvery apples. It was the most beautiful place Eryn had ever seen.

"So this is where it all started, huh?"

Azure kept quiet and leaned against a nearby wall, he wasn't impressed, to him the room was mostly useless, nothing amazing about it at all from his view, just another room, he waited patiently for the group to move on.

Looking about the room curiously, Wes had to squint to see much of the area. Not what I might have expected. he mused. But still beautiful.

"So why did you bring us here?" he finally asked Anthony.

"To show you the beginning, the real beginning, not something the Church thought up and none of the bullshit the atheists are cooking up these days. This is the place where humanity was born. The part you won't expect to hear is that the humans all used to be Mythos. I'm here to show you why humans exist."

He sat down in one of the chairs and motioned for the others to join him, "It starts back in the beginning, the creation of out realms, not just Earth. Earth is one parallel to the three plains of existence, one being Earth of course. The others being Heaven and Hell, as they are called now. The three deities created these realms. They were known as Yahweh, Lucifer, and the Mother. Yahweh created his realm with the race of angelic beings, this meaning fair and flawless perfect soldiers and subjects to cater to his every need. Lucifer created the realm of Hell, one of emotion, wanting and absolute power for those willing to do what it took to grasp them. The Mother was different from either of these deities. She wished to create a world where all was equal, where things would learn on their own and evolve as such. She created your species, the Mythos."

Anthony lit up another cigarette to catch his breath and resumed talking, "Every plain of existence has its own Eden, the parallel realms are linked through the Eden, if intervention was ever needed in a plain the deities were able to help one another. This was the theory, but Lucifer and Yahweh used this to invade each others realms wanting more power than what they already had and with loyal angels and demons they wrecked havoc across their realms, tearing them apart in their blind quest for power. All this time, Earth grew stronger and more adaptive, it seemed the Mother's policy of no intervention was the catalyst to allow greater mental and physical prowess of the races. She was content with what she had created. There was only one rule to this almost perfect realm. There was to be no travellers to the Garden of Eden, this place. The reason was because that would mean that the Mythos would be able to eat from the Tree of knowledge and gain power to cross realms, the power of a God."

"The other Gods saw this as a way to weaken the barriers that were growing stronger in Earth, the deities were finding it harder and harder to pass into the realm of Earth and by tempting the Mythos to break these barriers they wanted past so badly. They needed this realm for their own had been torn by war and greed. Lucifer appeared to a Mythos by the name of Eve. He convinced her and her mate Adam to sneak into the garden with promises of the powers of a God. They went into the Garden and ate from the tree, allowing greater mental and spiritual powers beyond any other of the races. Alas this was their downfall as the Mother realized what her beings had done. She stripped them of their powers cast them away from her sight in her rage and sadness for what would happen to her realm. Humanity was created, a flaw in the design of a deity."

"Thus humans exist, a wild card in the war for realms, an imperfect, but powerful race. No other race has devised ways to kill the others without powers. Imagine a Mythos stripped from his abilities, what could he do? Nothing and that's what distinguishes the humans and despite their violent nature, makes them important to this war that was been 65 000 years in the making. We need them to help the Mythos stop the invading forces that mass on the weakened planes of existence. They have weapons that can stop angels, demons...Gods perhaps, they have no limits, for humanity, well they are demi-gods in their own rights."

Anthony was finally done his tale, "This is why humanity cannot simply be wiped out, but they cannot fight this war on their own, they need you as well, you Mythos were the original creation and you will continue to stay on this world, but our own war must end so that we are not too weak to fight the war that is coming as we speak."

"So... since most religions have now been debunked by something that sounds insane," Justin began, "are the out-there religions real at all? I mean, do Xenu or the Flying Spaghetti Monster exist at all?"

"The short answer would be no. I'm sorry but there is no correct religion, not anymore. In the beginning maybe, I wasn't here to verify that. Yahweh has done the most effective job of indoctrinating much of the population. The Catholic, Judists and Muslims will not so easily convinced that Yahweh is their enemy, but that is going to be no more than the difficulty in telling humanity and Mythos that they need to stop fighting. The plains grow weaker everyday and with it the timer shortens to war between the plains."

"Right, well," Justin continued as the facts began sinking in, "I'll just, uh, sit over here and... yeah." The closest thing for him to lean against was the tree, so he walked over and sat down under it, holding his head in his hands as he tried to comprehend what was going on.

We're not only saving the world, we're saving our entire realm of existence. This group of Mythos... and me, a little human. They're born with their weapons, but take mine away and I'm relatively useless. First we fight humans and win them over, then we fight angels and demons, and then the gods themselves? Justin unknowingly brought his knees up to his chest and wrapped his arms around his legs. I don't know if I can make it through this...

"So humans are an accident?" Eryn couldn't help but laugh at that. After all that humans have said and done.. they were the mistake. She stood up from the floor, dusting off her pants and shirt. "Well, this has certainly been a very interesting history lesson."

Eryn looked over to Justin, his attitude had taken a downward spiral. "Why so glum, human? Afraid you're gonna die or something?"

Azure looked up at Eryn's remark, "why shouldn't he be afraid? we're talking about a possible full scale war, this isn't something as easy as a few guards, this sort of war will come with a heavy cost in lives, not to mention we will eventually be facing immortals, despite all our abilities the chances for survival are slim without enough support."

He turned to anthony, "what makes you think that there will be enough humans and mythos to repel either realm? even with their technology we'd need to have a far greater force than humanity to stand a chance, if demons and angels both move at once, assuming they will mobilise, we will have a problem, they may be deluded, but most of humanity is still innocent, they won't have the guts to fight and they will get slaughtered, will they really stand up to fight this threat, or will they roll over and die? while we're at it, why should we even help them survive? they did us no favors and they'd kill for a load of worthless paper, why would they stay on our side, either realm just needs to spread a little temptation and half the humans become traitors."

He stopped and breathed deeply, looking down at the ground, he glanced at justin, "i'm sorry, but that's how your kind presents themselves as a race, it's not that i don't want peace, it's that it is very unlikely."

"No... you're right," Justin muttered, turning his gaze to Azure. "Most humans are worthless in the grand scheme of things, not really worth saving. I mean, I hoped this fight would mean something, but what now? I just found out my entire species is a mistake, a punishment." Standing up, he turned to face Eryn. "And this is why I'm afraid." Taking a deep breath, he quickly drew his pistol and pointed it at her, pulling back the hammer. In the moments he held it up to get the message across, he felt himself unable to hold it steady anymore, and his hand shook violently.

"You're not even afraid... none of you... just mad, right?" He could feel the tears falling out of his eyes. "My weapons don't scare people who have theirs inside their body. Knock this gun out of my hand, and I'll lose the fight, no question." Decocking the pistol, he slowly put it back in its holster. "I know it... you know it... every angel, demon, and Mythos knows it. And you ask if I'm afraid. I lose my gun, I'm dead. I run out of ammo, I'm dead. I even get too close, I'm dead." Dropping his head, he wiped his eyes with his jacket sleeve.

"If I'm lucky, I'll get some kills before I slip up and get torn apart. If not, I'll distract them for a few seconds before I die." Drawing his pistol again, he kept it pointed down as he made sure a round was in the chamber. "But I will go. I'll go with you to the front lines, even if it's the last thing I do." Letting his arms fall to his side, he looked up enough to see the General.

"What'll happen when I die?"

Eryn heard Azure's speech, but didn't say anything back. In some way, he had a point. But none of it really mattered to her. If she died, no one would mourn her, no one would remember her. She'd be another forgotten name in history. The war would still go on and life would continue. She had had that state of mind since she had fatally injured her foster father and ran away from home. That was one of the many reasons she so easily ran into the battlefield.

She looked down the barrel of Justin's gun, a sad smile gracing her face. "You seem to forget that I'm half human. I guess I can kinda sympathize with you.. My birth was a mistake too.."

She sighed, shaking her head from side to side. "My attitude toward this war.. Well, I'm indifferent. Humans..are complicated... After all the wars that have been fought, laws that have been passed.. they still fight. They still kill each other for stupid reasons like religion and race. So I think that even if we do win this war.. everyone will still act the same. Just because everything is different doesn't mean anything will change. "

Azure looked at Justin and Eryn, a little dissappointed, "you make yourselves sound useless, you don't give yourselves enough credit, humanity may lack their own physical abilities, but they possess a potential to adapt in ways mythos never will, your place may not be within nature, but one day you'll be capable of traveling between worlds, all that you lack is discipline, your species is ignorant and paranoid yes, but a mistake they are not, it may take a long time, thousands, maybe tens of thousands of years, but one day you will be ready to coexist with mythos, but right now, today, there are too few humans who can accept the truth."

Azure sighed and turned back to anthony, "tell me angel, what do you think would happen if this place were known? do you think the world would rally behind it? i would estimate that this would get the attention of a tenth of the human population, but the others wouldn't care, it may be a symbol, but it is of the past, and far too old for most to care for, it is just another sculpture, statue or museum, something to see every now and then, not enough of an icon to act upon, but not something you can straight out ignore, if this has nothing to do with why you brought us here then i would ask why? to show us history? the past does not matter, it is the past and all life must move on at some stage or another."

every word he said he said calmly, as if it was common knowledge, deductions were easy to make in the current situation, but maybe they deliberatly decided not to make them, in some cases the truth is hard to accept, he knew all to well what it was like to have to accept something he didn't want to beleive (an image of the dead arose in his mind, he could hear the screams of those he killed) but things had to be done, and soon, at any time this realm could be in danger, but standing around talking about the beginning of life wasn't going to get us anywhere, the angel should know this, or does he have his own agenda? Azure thought about it silently.

angels, they're all the same, can't trust a single one of them, why not take care of him now? remove a potential threat before he can do anything? come on Azure, don't be dull, live a little, a bit of chaos never hurt anyone. said the voice of his broken mind, no, the angel has a plan, i don't know if it will help or destroy us, but it's a plan, he will live unless he turns against us, until then i will not move against him, no matter how much you try to manipulate me.

whew, that was longer than i had intended, this is getting interesting.

"Potential for the next thousand years doesn't count for much when you're at risk of getting wiped out within the next ten," Justin sighed, finally putting his pistol away. "We don't need to be... I dunno, 'grown up,' later, we need to be ready now, and we're not." Thinking for a second, he glanced over at Eryn.

"That's a good line, I'll have to remember that one. Just because everything is different..."

"Yeah, I'm full of awesome one-liners.." Eryn said jokingly, trying to alleviate the somber mood that had fallen over the group. She walked over to the tree, reaching for one of the silvery apples, but missing it by a few centimeters.

"So not only do we have to convince both sides that they're both wrong.. but we have to convince them to join sides. And then we have to fight immortals?"

Eryn walked back to the group, taking a deep breath and sighing. "Our group had some of the worst luck ever."

"Well, at least the General makes it sound like it's possible," Justin commented. "I mean, some religions have it where their gods can and have died, so maybe they got that part right?"

"Whatever the case may be... We don't have much of a choice in the matter, obviously. The fact that Anthony felt the need to bring us here indicates just how deep we're in this mess." Burst explained to Eryn and Justin. "Like Anthony said, we need to ally ourselves with the humans, not eradicate them..."

Burst looked over at Anthony, and smiled and nodded at the angel.

"General... I will follow you in our mission. As a part of this world, it is my duty to protect it."

"It must be possible, or we die," Anthony muttered looking at the group. He looked at Azure, "The fact that this place exists changes nothing for the average man or Mythos, its as simple as that, but it means something to our resistance, to the Organization I am part of. This isn't just history but our future as well, the first demons and angels will break through at Eden, after that transfer is easy, they will be everywhere. The world will see the truth without seeing this place. I brought you all here because I want you to know what you're getting into, and that I trust you above all other people. I brought you here because you are my team and you deserve the truth. Convincing people, convincing Mythos, that's going to be tough, but I know the stage we can start at."

"Humans are not weak Justin, you are strong, you are the pinnacle of evolution outside of a Deity's blessing, you don't need to worry losing powers, your mind is always there to save you. And there is one more detail that you will love to here. General powers of Demons, Mythos and Angels don't transfer between realms. When you're fighting on Earth you only have to worry about their strength and speed."

After hearing the General's last comment, Justin raised an eyebrow in interest.

"And, I'm guessing that few of them are faster than bullets, right?" he asked, hope slightly renewed.

'Well, I'm far too deep to back out of this situation now. Besides, being in a giant war and fighting against demons and angels seems like a good waste of my time.' Eryn laughed quietly, amused by her own sarcastic thoughts. Despite what the others had said, she was only with them because she enjoyed fighting. The rest of it didn't matter to her.

"So where are we going next?" She asked Anthony.
