Breath of Fire, whatever you do, don't make it a iOS game

Step Three: Have Joanna be more like her Zero incarnation. I know I'm going to get quite a bit of shit for this, but hear me out first. Her character model was unique (plus, she was always intended to be a redhead), and her character that was developed there was a lot more interesting than her original incarnation (where she was pretty much just a Bond clone).
I don't care about her look, but goddamn her personality in Zero was atrocious. Granted her original personality was non-existent, but it's definitely better than what they had in Zero (bond clone vs shitty bond clone).

I don't know if it is strictly dying, but with the large drop in players from Reach to 4, I think 343 needs to do three things with the Halo series:

Release Halo 2: anniversary.

Bring back the old soundtrack.

Bring back the ARBITER! For god's sake...

I more meant her to be like her book/comic counterpart than her game counterpart (since in both games she was lacking in character), but since technically it's her Zero counterpart (thus the same incarnation), I just said 'her Zero incarnation'.

Banjo-Kazooie.

Rare seem to have no interest to revitalize the series seeing as how they're being pressured by Microsoft to create only crappy Kinect games. Sell the rights back to Nintendo, let Retro Studios handle a new game. They did wonderfully with Donkey Kong Country, and I feel they can work similar magic creating a next-gen 3D platformer; the likes of which haven't been seen in a good, long while.

While they're at it, Rare should sell the rights of the Conker games as well. That way they can focus all their assets toward creating their Microsoft-funded Kinect games that nobody wants.

I'm sure there are a good amount of fans that would love to see a new Conker game, too.
This, I will buy a bloody Wii-U if I have to in order to play a genuine Rare experience. I was once upon a time really exited to goline with my Wii to go into the shop and find a couple of Nintendo 64 clssics, then I remembered that Microsoft bought them all... most of them.

Oh I see. I do not know much of the comic/novels, but yes that would be her Zero incarnation as you say.

.......This may be a bit of a random question, but do you know anything about the Perfect Dark comic published in early 200 with Prima's Strategy Guide for the first game?

I'll admit I haven't checked out the sales figures for this, so I don't if it's accurate to call it "dying", but I thought Hitman: Absolution was a huge step in the wrong direction and fear the series may be going down a dark path.

There's an over-emphasis on the character and the story that I think is wrong-headed for this particular franchise and I think it severely limits the gameplay. Also, attempting to make 47 an engaging character is pointless. We like him for the things he lets us do, and the puzzles that come with it, not for his inner turmoil or whatever motivations. By his design, he should remain unsympathetic.

If they want to make Hitman all he can be, they need to backtrack to Blood Money, the best one, then shoot off in a different direction than the one they took. I've always felt like the series' premise is perfect for a game that doesn't have to rely on forward moving "cinematic" narrative to be enjoyable, and could probably do away almost entirely with linearity.

For example, a globe-trotting game with contract based missions, independent of one another, that a player can choose from as he or she sees fit. This wouldn't mean that the game would have to do away with story, just that it wouldn't need a traditional plotline. Interesting story elements can be delivered in all kinds of ways, like simple dialogue, level design (set dressing), explorative or collected background info, etc.

The "scoring" system could also use a lot of improvement, but that's more nitpicking. The one in Blood Money was pretty good, and I would love to see something like that but with a lot more diversity. And anyone who's played Absolution knows that it was absolute crap in that game.

But yeah, the ultimate conclusion (that any poster in this thread should come to) is that whatever company is running that franchise I love into the ground would benefit best by hiring me.

Yeah, I know what you're talking about. From what I recall, it was an eight or so page preview that was originally distributed at E3 2004 (or something like that) that eventually became Perfect Dark: Janus' Tears. Those first few pages were largely unchanged, save for the colors becoming much brighter, the text/speech boxes getting touched up, and some of the dialogue changed, as well as the last page or two of the preview being altered as the preview was meant as a one off, where as Janus' Tears was six issues long.

According to what I can find out on the matter it's the best selling game of the series by a small margin.

Yeah, I would love to see a new Banjo Kazooie game. Now I liked Nuts and Bolts quite a bit because it allowed me to be creative and make almost whatever I wanted to, but I would like to see a return to the classic 3D platform game that made me love the series in the first place.

Also F-Zero. They reason they haven't made a new one is supposedly because they can't come up with something innovative, but honestly, they just need to make the game almost exactly like they made F-Zero GX and I will be satisfied since it's hard to come by these days anyway.

Command and Conquer. It remains to be seen what the new online game will bring. But I was not happy with #4 nor Red Alert 3. I think they need to focus back on the things that made the game so great. I loved Generals and I was really hoping Generals 2 would be great, instead its going to be this free to play thing. I don't want a MMO and I want to be able to build and defend a base as well as building however many units I want so I can have more than 1 major front and a mini side task force at once.

What Nintendo don't seem to understand is that racers are one of the few genres that don't need constant innovation. All that is needed is tight controls, proper physics and solid level design (although a good story mode like in GX wouldn't hurt either). Considering how F-Zero is one of those franchises that could really take great advantage of the Wii U's graphical capabilities, combined with serious fan interest, it seems like this would be a no-brainer for Nintendo. But nope, more New Super Mario for us :/

OT: Although I have no idea who owns it now that THQ has shut down, a new Destroy All Humans would be amazing. Considering how literally hours ago it was confirmed that Area 51 exists, it would be a great idea to jump on that story for a modern day setting. I can imagine it should toy with humanity's over-reliance on technology. I'm not a game designer, but I'm sure they could work around that idea. Also there needs to be a more creative emphasis on the weaponry. It's alien technology for fucks sake. If Saints Row can do it, surely a game where you literally play as an invading alien can do better than just human weapons with space-y sounding names and designs

Dying or dead? Cause I can think of a few dead ones top of my head Dungeon Keeper and Knights of the Old Republic. Dying Kessen, Romance of the three Kingdoms. Some Jrpg's kinda lost there way going from psx and ps2 to later consoles. Like Star Ocean 2 was great, but didn't like later installments. Oh and an all time favorite Lunar.

Does Strife count? It's only one game that no one but me and like three other people ever played, but it seriously has one of the coolest worlds in a game I've played. It's all middle ages themed with castles, knights, crossbows and so forth, but a strange comet has given an evil cult the knowledge to build futuristic weapons, robots, and other technology.

I think it's abandon-ware now, so who knows if anything will ever happen to it, but if they did make a new one, fixing up the stealth mechanics and making it possible to not accidentally kill plot reliant NPCs would be great. Maybe make it like Skyrim but with a linear series of open environments like the Deus Ex games instead of a fully open world.

Halo CE is completely iconic, being the original of course, so an anniversary edition is justified. But the only real accomplishment that 2 had, although it was admittedly a big one, was multiplayer honestly. And I don't think that's worth an anniversary edition especially now that the multiplayer we have even in just 3 is far superior to 2.

That would sound as if 343 is too stuck in the past. This is a new trilogy by new developers. We should treat it as such.

Fine with me, but as long as he isn't wearing that terrible looking Arbiter armor from the 2nd and 3rd games. It looked like he was wearing old-fashioned boiler-plates glued together.

Let it be said that I love New Super Mario Bros, but when it comes to innovation there isn't really much to brag about. Yet they are made. Because of that I find it silly that they can't make an improved version of F-Zero GX giving us nothing new except for maybe some new vehicles and stages. I would be satisfied there. Anything beyond there (honestly anything beyond rerelease of F-Zero GX) would be a bonus to me.

Front Mission.

We've shown we are totally down with turn based hex-grid strategy games with things like X-com Enemy Unknown. Now pretend the latest Front Mission game you made (Awful third person shooter) didnt happen and give us some glorious full customisation mech strategy in current gen, ala Front Mission 3 but shiny and new.

Silent Hill
End it.

Resident Evil
Go back to horror and get away from the action asplosions. Also, stop using Wesker.

All of the other series I go for are doing well, or have only had minor hiccups.
