Bioshock, even though I'm not really a fan of 1st person shooters, I would probably enjoy period pieces with entertaining story lines...that game made almost every picture angle have something to look at. The 50's style TV and poster ads sold it for me.

I'm with the folks that hate sport-games, but give me 4 players playing NHL 2000 [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NHL_2000] on a Playstation 1 and you'll have a crazy man jumping off the walls with glee. Those were some good times...

I've always found RTS games boring, But Age of Mythology is fun as hell.
I had a brief enjoyment of Command and Conquer 3, but I got bored of it pretty fast.

I don't like racing games, but Mario Kart DS is great. Also, I'm not sure if it counts because of how different from the genre it is, but Super Smash Bros is the only fighting game that isn't me mashing buttons in a futile attempt to win.

Kingdom Hearts series.
Like Yahtzee, I dislike the girly characters and rediculous storylines of this genre.
Most notably, I hate the Final Fantasy series for many reasons.
But Kingdom Hearts surprised me and now both Kingdom Hearts I & II are among my favorite games of all time.
I know what you mean. When it first came out I thought I would avoid that thing like the plague. Mostly for two reasons, One the Disney element that I thought was poring out like a waterfall of rainbows (Bleeeehhh). And also the Final Fantasy element, need I say more? But I saw the my friends from New York city fighting the Monstro and Tarzan bosses and I was intrested. Than one day I got a copy at a gamestop and never looked back.

Despite my either bare-faced hatred or general apathy toward RPGs, I love Kingdom of Loathing. It's quirky and full of increasingly obscure pop culture references, and the people in chat can use the English language without tripping over themselves. You have to prove yourself at the "Altar of Literacy" before you can even think about entering the chat. In general, KoL makes me feel all fuzzy inside.

Not a big fan of racing games, but I rather like Burnout. Not to race, mind you; I just like crash mode. Had a drinkin' and drivin' "experiment" (party) at my house with it once to see if the crashes got any bigger after a few.

Yes, very politically incorrect. I know.
me and my friend would always do that, we called playing need for speed when drinking, drinking and driving, i had someone tell me i shouldn't even play need for speed while drunk

as for me i hate sports games but i really liked nba street vol 2

tho i don't like fps games on the console, haven't found one that i could stand the game play off, i liked the darkness BUT i hated the controls, could have dealt with a mouse and keyboard. tho mirror's edge could be considered an fps but i did like that

I hate JRPGs with the passion of a million flaming suns. That being said, Chrono Trigger is amazing and the best JRPG I've ever played, as well as being in my top five-ish games I've ever played.
