Why would you settle for anything less then the name "Alternative Rock Band", In my eyes that is the perfect name for a band.

If I was ever in a band I would want to name them Troika, but that sounds like more of a heavy metal band name.

Scrooge McFuckduck and the Goddamn Batmans. I know if I had a band, I'd call it that. Then again, I have a weird sense of humor.
A fellow band member suggested 'All Hands On Dick' Apparentely he has that sense of humore too.
I like All Hands on Dick. I would go see that band play.

How about The Towers? Or The Pillars?

Just recently while watching the news I thought "Yemeni Widow" could be a good band name. It sounds catchy and is slightly topical (the whole Osama killing).

I'd recommend either a unique name, or a very unusual phrase.

That way, when people are googling you, they won't have to wade through loads of other stuff.

On the other hand, deliberate mispellings to look cool are right out.

I'm sick of names that start with "the-"
I kinda like "All hands on dick" myself, the more inappropriate a name is, the better... unless you go over-board with "the c*nts"... just sayin'.

EDIT: Scratch that, "The c*nts" would be a fucking AWESOME name!
maybe not for an alt. rock band though...

I'm not a big Moby fan, but I like his song Extreme Ways, and I always thought one of the lyrics, "Perfect Colour Me" would be a great name for a band, or at least an album. But that's just me.

Otherwise, there's plenty of awesome science-based stuff you can use:

Particle Wave
Unstable Isotope
Valence
Oxygen Burning
Autoimmune Disorder
Ossicle
Voltage Gradient
Potential Propagation
Self-Actualisation
etc

Seriously, science wins every time.

I'd try to help you but I'm in the same boat as you friend.
Well we all know which two bands you're listening to at the minute :3.

Pumpable Ice Technology and/or Controlled Brine Pumping.

A couple of vaguely suggestive, vaguely interesting terms that I ran across recently. It'll make parents frown disapprovingly, can be abbreviated as PIT (or CBP...), isn't ACTUALLY dirty, and when someone asks how you came up with the name you can say "some dude suggested it on the internet".

Wow thanks everyone for your input. I'll be talking to my fellow band members within the next hour and see if we come one step closer to choosing a name for our band.
