I played Legend of Dragoon and made it to the 2nd disc in one sitting. As I was about to saving the power went out and I lost my file. I didn't play it for about five months after that and then I just gave up on it.

Four hours in the middle of PoP WW and it freezes during a cutscene. I never got all the fountains because I couldn't remember which one I was at at the last save point.

I've never lost anything really serious... not that I remember anyway. I do, however, sometimes lose posts because I accidentally close the browser or hit the back button. :(

I lost a freakin' huge Enclave base because the G.E.C.K. likes to crash randomly.

My save data for Oblivion, Fallout 3, Assassin's Creed 2, a few other games and god knows how many pages of writing thanks to Monopolysoft Word... Bill Gates is a bastard. I now have a mac, and am much happier

Once I lost my lvl 25 Oblivion character. I know, only 25, but it was my first character, so that pissed me off

Well, I accidentally overwrited my RDR save. The game told me to choose a slot when starting a new game, but when I first saved it just went automatically to the first save, and I just tapped X like usual. I had completed all the legendary missions (Hunting rank 10, Shooting rank 10 etc) so I was pretty pissed off.

Gothic. My first time playing the game, and a few hours in,without saving, the game crashed on me. I try again, and save an hour or so in. Crashed mid-save. I now save every five minutes.

I typed a 15 page short story for a creative writing class last year. I couldn't print it so I saved it onto a flash drive that I thought was mine. Turns out it was my friend's(I borrowed it and it happened to be the same color as mine) and after he got it back he deleted everything on it to put something else on it. Needless to say I was pretty mad, but more at myself though.

It's funny that you call games work and that others have agreed with that sentiment.

Perhaps you need to inject some fun back into your gaming.

Anyway, I once lost a lot of data both work related and not when a 500gb hard disk decided it was time to die. It's a lesson you learn once and then you'll make sure you have a back ups.

Final college exam, PowerPoint show.

Our projector suddenly decided it couldn't find the signal from the laptop anymore.

We did have cardboard versions of most of it, luckily, but it still sucked... I put more than 40 hours into that PowerPoint. Had vids, music and everything >.<

I lost a full review here because my computer crashed after trying to post it.....I threw the computer against the wall.

And I lost all my PS3 save data because the game froze midsave. Probably the reason I hate Fallout 3 so much >>

I lost a level 30 Borderlands Soldier due to save corruption. I didn't play Borderlands for 4 months afterwards.
I'm sorry, but only level 30?
lvl 30 is maximum.

i accidently killed an important npc at gothic3 and saved. that shitgame lets the player kill important npcs. all trys to get the person back failed. i had to start a new game, 50 playing hours -> *poff* never press the quicksave button ten times a minute.

I was playing minecraft. I accedentally placed a chunk or two of TNT in the main room of my house.

worst of all, i accedentaly hit one of them.

Going on 4 days and im still rebuilding.
Just as a note of interest: if you have a wooden bungalow with a basement, don't build a fireplace in the basement. I now have a basement made of sand, some glass and about a quarter of the wood that I started with. Oh, and the knowledge of not building a damn fireplace in a wooden hut...

I was a good 7-8 hours into FF6 without saving when my friend who was over at the time wanted to go see a movie and couldn't get my attention because I had headphones on with music really loud. So to get my attention he walked over and turned off the computer. I got teary eyed and punched him
this, except replace Final Fantasy with Dead Rising's Infinite Mode...

I WAS JUST AN HOUR AWAY FROM THE LASER SWORD!!!!
