Just about every sequel in Pendragon topped its predecessor.
My favorite will always be The Never War, but I agree.

Anyway, I thought Kingdom Hearts was an improvment over the first, if only because it fixed the camera issues.

Already been said earlier i'm sure but regardless:

Terminator 2

Empire Strikes Back

Timesplitters 2

Metal Slug X

Guitar hero II

Syphon Filter 2

Jak 2

Dawn of the Dead

Die Hard 2

Also, someone further up has put KOTOR 2, this person is actually insane.

Duke Nukem 2, Daggerfall... Edison's lightbulb, the microchip calculator...
And personally, I rank Gold and Silver over Red and Blue. Both definitely worth playing, but G/S/C was just... a little bit more to me.

Aliens > Alien

EDIT: Aliens 3 sucked big time

DOUBLE EDIT: And don't even get me started on Alien Ressurection

TRIPLE EDIT: AVP 2 *eye twitches, nose bleeds*
Dude, I don't know if you've seen it, but check out the Alien 3 Directors cut. I don't know how they did it, but it makes the movie pretty damn good. Still not as good as Aliens or Alien, but it's NOWHERE near as bad as the original Alien 3. Give it a shot if you get a chance. But you are right about Alien: Resurrection... God that movie sucked.

Also, my answer to the question is Evil Dead 2.

saints row 2, its so much better then the original game was
Testify! Can I get an amen?

Oh, and SSB: Melee was so much better than the original it's mindblowing. Too bad they didn't make a winning streak with Brawl, that was my biggest game disappointment in years.

The Lost World > Jurassic Park, but I mean the books, not the movies.
sheew *wipes forehead* I was about to say. I wish they had stuck to the plot of the 2nd book in the 2nd movie. Truly, one of Speilberg's worst.

KOTOR 2, Fallout 3, Red Alert 3, Oblivion
Are you serious?
Yes. Now I haven't played the original Fallouts or Red Alerts and barely any part of Morrowind, but those are some of my favorite games so shush.
All these games kick ass but try KOTOR and Fallout 2 (I think 2 is a bit better then 1), i agree with Red Alert 3 though, played all the other ones and just had a blast with this one
I have played KOTOR and I loved it, but I just prefer 2. And I don't have a good gaming PC so I can't play 2.
Thing that bugged me about the second game was lack of an ending, so it rates a bit lower for me
Tip of the iceberg man (probably the worst analogy for discussing a bad ending but oh well!), KOTOR 1 is just infinately better from start to (especially) finish in mein opinion.

Half Life 2, TF2, Fallout 3 and the Dark Night were all better then their predecessors.

I have the quadrilogy box set. I'll try and make it a point to watch it.

Overlord II.

At least it had fun sequences like the sneaky part when you're finding the green hive, not to mention the ship battle on the way there. The plot wasn't entirely retarded too. Instead of Liberating people from evil oppressors only to be slightly nasty to them, you now liberate them from a regime that generally keeps them happy, and offs those who aren't, saving the world from Roman conquests aside, only to dominate or annihilate them, whichever takes your fancy. Slaves or corpses. None of this wishy-washy burn some building, attack some peasants but generally they will be alive and well and the sun will be shining poppycock of its predecessor.
