Yes. Now I haven't played the original Fallouts or Red Alerts and barely any part of Morrowind, but those are some of my favorite games so shush.
Did you even bother to read the title of the topic you posted in?

How about Matrix reloaded? (the second one) A bit of a call, but in my opinion it could be seen to be superior to the original. Feel free to express your own opinion in this matter, this seems to be a bit of a topic of contention, but please be gentle. I still hurt from last night.

Duke Nukem Forever... oh wait.

In that case...

Video game: Star Wars Battlefront 2. Space battles, heroes, and more locations made the game better, even though it isn't the greatest game ever.

Movie: The Godfather P.2. Hey, it counts.

WRONG!
He was involved in one and 2. They used his designs in 3 but NEVER gave him credit. he doesn't even appear in the credits.
Actually, your wrong. According to his website, he did Alien and Alien III. He was also part of a documentary of Alien I - III.

Probably because he sued.
He was never oficcially recognized in the credits for III.
So he sued them.

Cod4, Jak2 and Jak 3 as well, the ratchet and clank 2: going commando(the others were good but that was the best), shrek 2, Devil may cry 3, also, devil may cry 3 > devil may cry 2(if u deny this ur seriously fucked up).

Im also hoping modern warfare 2 will live to its expectations, but at least let it be as good as the first 1.

He was never officially recognized in the credits for III.
So he sued them.
He was still apart of III; not II.

Baldur's Gate 2
Definitely. Although BG1 was awesome in itself, the sequel was even more extensive, had better graphics, deeper background stories for the NPCs... The same goes for Icewind Dale 2 really, it was even more action-packed, the pre-created parties were awesome (some members had unique items like the half-orc's cat-on-a-stick) and the story was actually pretty good as well.

And of course Dungeon Keeper 2.

It's hard for me to say that the sequels of these classics are better, because I wouldn't want people to think that the originals were any less good. The original versions were mind-blowing, but these sequels were even bigger, deeper and more intense.

Better than the original, thats rare. Lets see:

Link to the Past > Zeldas before it
Ocarina of Time > Zeldas before that
Super Metroid > Metroid
Super Mario Brothers 3 > Super Mario Brothers
Super Smash Brothers Melee > Super Smash Brothers
Warcraft 3 > Warcrafts before that
Diablo 2 > Diablo
Dark Knight > Batman Forever
The Rescuers Down Under > The Rescuers
Thats it, I give up!

Games: Halo 3 (What?), KOTOR 2...and thats about all I can say (Edit: And LoZ Twilight Princess was better the Ocarina of Time, in my opinion)
Movies: LOTR got better as it went along, other than that I can't think of any.

Team Fortress 2.
Half Life 2.

And to be honest, I prefer Fallout 3 to the original 2. I have been playing Fallout and Fallout Tactics recently, and I think Bethesda envisiond the Fallout world better than the original Devs.

Though Half-Life 1 is amazing it comes short compared Half-Life 2. The sequel is practicly the same game but with better qualities (not technical qualities). Half-Life 2 has better story, better music, better characters but not better atmosphere.
I'd argue with you on that last one. The atmosphere is noticeably improved in my opinion, just look at the bridge (or all of Highway 17 for that matter) and Nova Prospekt.
Argue accepted. Half-Life 2 has lots of atmosphere though not as immersive as in Half-Life 1. I always felt very hunted and trapped and the only great atmosphere I felt from Half-Life 2 was a very good illusion of linearity. Though the Xen levels were Half-Life's weakest part, it had the best atmosphere. I have never felt such unease and "jumpiness".

I liked Half Life way more than Half Life 2. HL2 is still an amazing game, don't get me wrong, but Half Life felt like you were on the run from nearly everyone and everything in the Black Mesa facility, provoking the player's desire to get the hell out of dodge real fast. In Half Life 2 Gordon Freeman was basically the saviour of City 17 - with following of lambda-wearing rebels, a robo-dog, and a hot lady friend to aid you, while in the original Freeman had a bunch of elderly scientists and pistol-sporting guards to help.

Ho ho, I see what you did there.
