For me, I didn't like how dull and lifeless some of the cities and areas were, especially your camp. All of your companions and NPCs just stand in one spot doing nothing. They could of had your companions doing things like Alistair relaxing near the campfire eating food, Sten practicing his bladework, Wynne mending clothes or using her magic, Oghren sitting on a stump getting drunk, and other ways of showing how your characters spend their free time. Maybe this is just a minor complaint, but it's just something that bugged me.

Honestly, you hit my only real complaint on the head. It does seem a bit dull at times.

Maybe a couple more back storys? i mean, why cant i start as a slum human whos father was a gaurd? Or an apostate?

The last boss.
I thought that it was REALLY difficult. I spent two hours on it, and I was playing on Normal!

Maybe it's because I played it on the console.
Either that, or I'm just terrible at it.

The long wanderings.

The Dream level and the Dwarven cave level. It was far to boring.

The ridiculous achievements that required that I beat the game at least 10 times before I can unlock them all... On the PC version at least. Other than that, it was a really good game, in my opinion.

Orzammar.

The combat in general (not a specific criticism of Dragon Age, I can't name you an example of an RPG the combat in which I actually enjoyed)

The achingly slow start.

Beyond that, it was golden, and got better as it went on :)

I honestly couldnt get into it at all. The story seemed nifty, but the attrocious combat and "that" dream level turned me off it

The lack of loot in the Fade during the Circle of Magi quest.

I like looting stuff >.>

When you entered the Fade in the Circle quest. I dread that part everytime I play the game. And also what you said.

Uh.... isn't the last boss supposed to be difficult? Or ideally supposed to be difficult? Or do you prefer a final boss like Lucien in Fable II?

I didn't really like how the AI handled the allies, I tried messing around with tactics but my party would still do stupid things that would cause me to face palm when they ended up dying

My entire team died and I solo'd it, but I was a very well tooled out shield and sword specced warrior...

OT: For me my main gripe with Dragon Age: Origins was the huge lack of any real character customization.
I know some people consider it quite robust, but for me, being able to cycle through three races, with about 10 hair styles and faces each isn't all that robust...

I would have liked a more defined character creation.

I mean it becomes painfully obvious that you'll bump into someone who looks like you eventually when all the main characters have the (arguably) decent hairstyles to choose from...

You can use the ballistas on her?! I never noticed them! That boss was ridiculously difficult without them...

For a game that I loved so much, I actually have a few complaints.

1. The balance.
The final boss was not hard at all, but there were trash-pulls in the open world that drove me bonkers. If you play a fighter, you will play at least one third of the game without a healer, and that is freakishly difficult.

2. The Underwear
Yeah, its a petty gripe, I´m sorry, but why would they insist on keeping their underwear on?

3. Graphics
Usually, I don´t mind them that much, but they where pretty bland.

4. Dwarves
There are male dwarves without beards! ;-) kidding

Ok, not that many, but I really hated the balancing.

NO! Lucien wasn't a boss fight. He was....garbage!

Yeah, the boss WAS supposed to be difficult, but I know someone (my brother) who beat it in 30 minutes on hard difficulty.

Still, I'd rather have a very difficult boss fight than a....Fable II "boss fight".
