Lack of voice acting for your character... although I know with the sheer amount of conversations n things in there, for all the player character options... would have been an insane job to put it in but still... to hear all that dialogue and then my character being a mute during conversations... I dunno, its a small immersion breaking point for me

Oh but (as contradictory as this may sound) hearing my dwarf say "I shall do it!" for the millionth time gets frustrating hehe

For me it was just the whole game in general... it felt worse than Mass Effect 1 to me... and I can't really put my finger on why...
As someone who's played both games and loved both, they were completely different games. Mass Effect is more action oriented and Dragon Age is more tactic oriented. In Mass Effect, you shoot everything in site with the help of your teammates, but you only control one person. In Dragon Age, you get to control an micromanage every attack.

You know, I might be the only person here who liked "that dream level." I liked the chance to pop onto the dreams of your companions and take a peak at their innermost desires and regrets; to see their nightmares first hand. It was like lucid dreaming with other people. Also, the permanent stat boosts were good, too.

Anyway, back to the OT.
My only complaints have already been posted. Lack of activity at camp, slow start-up, etc. I really fucking hate sounding like a fanboy, but DO:A is one of my favorites of all time.
Even better than <font color=green> BATTLEFROGZ

That the game is pretty much single-player, linear WoW where you have to control your 3 other group members and that it's much more depressing than WoW because you're playing it by yourself.

I do like it, though. It just seems kind of lonely sometimes.

Edit: Oh yeah, I liked the dream level a lot, too. Controlling the new characters was fun.

The only thing I really didn't like is that your character doesn't talk, I know that it gives you a more classic Bioware feel, but after the AMAZING voice acting I got from Sheperd in Mass Effect it was a minor let down.

Hm, it's hard to say anything major since most of my gripes were fixed with mods.

I guess I could say that the story as a whole could have been more original. I mean, I know it was a tribute/throwback to the RPG games of the past, but games like the Baldur's Gate series, while being set in perhaps the most cliché of settings (fantasy D&D/Forgotten Realms), still managed to lay out a completely original storyline while still keeping a wide scape in terms of universe.

Hated how underpowered Rogues and Warriors were as DPS and how boring Archery was (should've just made a Ranger class imo and made it properly).

Story sucked. Just like Mass Effect 2: "Bad guy wants world destroy, find ally now!"

It's basically four large chunks. Crappy side quests, no wandering, just an unimaginative game altogether.

The character customization is very disappointing. Too few classes. Honestly, rogue/mage/warrior? That's all you've got? Lame, especially since, with the nifty tricks of the first two, I have no incentive to play a guy who just swings stuff around.

Orzammar was just downright unpleasant. Uninviting environment and infuriatingly frustrating at times.

Other than that, it was alright.

My major gripe was some of the long winded running about sections. I ended up making 4 characters and just creating a new one every time I have to run down some long winded corridor.

That, and the inventory system. If you click the New Inventory button, it should jump you to the new item like it does with every other news bulletin that appears down there. Also, it was always too small. No matter how many backpacks I have I run out of space 3/4 of a way through a dungeon crawl and have to come up for air just to sell everything.

the rather standard fantasy fare story, not the journey from start to end has alot of good about it but the overall main story is rather seen it before stuff.

that some quests had easy outs that they should not have, prime example being the conner story where you can choose to kill the son the mother or take the risk of going back to the mages tower and getting enough mages and lyrium to perform the ceremony, so you had two less than ideal choices and one well lets leave a few days and see if the tower can help us and come back while conner sits in his room and plays with his stuffed animals or something while he knows we are trying to stop him. the mage tower should have been the worst option and should have resulted in everyone but the king dead. but it was just lazy quest design period.

and the fact the darkspawn are a total and complete joke as a enemy. i mean the more darkspawn you see the weaker they become, and according to the story it is the exact opposite and lead by a archdragon they should have been even more powerful instead the entire end of the game every darkspawn you run across can be one hit by anyone in your party outside of the mini boss types.

and the fact that da2 is not going to continue the story we invested so heavily in the first game but rather go off on some tangent.

The Fade level was cool the first time but that was about it. After that it's more or less just a drag to get through.

Lack of unique items. There are only a handful of items that are really interesting, especially on the armor side of things.

Overpowered DLC items. Sure, you didn't have to use them and you don't even have to buy the DLC, but the fact that you can get the only level 7 weapon in the game (Starfang) pretty much as soon as you start the main quest almost feels like a cheat that you paid for.

Some of the party members' side quests are really lacking. Both Oghren and Allister just ask you to go talk to someone. Lame!

Speaking of lame; since this is supposed to be a really grown up game, why the hell can't we have some nudity? As pervy as it my sound I found it odd that in a game made specifically for adults that people keep their underwear on during sex. I mean, we have child murder in the game for Odin's sake, but we can't see some flesh?

And finally I was not fond of the pacing of the action. It seemed like you either walked around talking to people for a really long time or you were fighting for a really long time. Rarely did you do a little bit of both and it led to some sections (of both kinds) feeling like they dragged on a little too long.

I felt that the mage became underpowered...and their were really only a few useful spells, so most of your talents went unused.

Not to mention the mage's clothes, I mean I didn't feel powerful to begin with and then they make you wear that stuff-and the HATS!!! aaarrgghh!!

It pretty much felt like an extremely dumbed down Baldur's Gate 2 with a FAR less interesting villan. Pretty sad when even a dragon can't fill Jon Irenicus' shoes.

two things,

the fade level which feels like more filler than actual level

and the short dlc which feels as if you could have put all of them together (excluding awaking) and it would be a decent length for a dlc

The dream level it was just confusing to me I had no Idea what to do. Then once I figured it out it just became a chore that I had to do every time I started a new game.

really unimpressed by that
This is how I feel about the last boss.
The last thing that I didn't like was the ending. Are you telling me that I just went through the entire game only to get some text screens telling me what my choices did!?

To be fair, all stories would be bad if we just simplified them like that.

Dragon Age: "Stop the Blight."

Bioshock: "Enter Rapture, get ordered around, guy giving you orders betrays you, then get revenge."

Grand Theft Auto 4: "Get out of debt and make it to the top."

Halo: "Kill the Covenant and the Flood."

Silent Hill 2: "Find missing wife."

And so on.
