I really didn't like DA:O, which is apparently heresy of the highest order but it's the truth.

I just found the combat to be utterly unenjoyable. It's like D&D, it's a pain in the ass to do *anything* at level one, but by level ten you can pretty much insta-kill anything.

But the game had a bad habit of locking you in unavoidable circumstances that you would be woefully unprepared for. I just got sick of being insta-killed by even the smallest enemy since the AI was utterly pathetic and would get itself killed in a moment. Yes, you could micromanage your way to victory, but that's really not my definition of fun...

I don't know, I really didn't like it.

The biggest problem for me was that the version I got on console was bugged up the ass. It took about 3 minutes for loot to appear and a bunch of the origin stories were impossible.
Besides that, for as much as the game touted choices there were so many choices that were pretty much made for you.
Ex. *Maybe Spoiler* In the circle tower at the top of the stairs you have to decide to either kill the remaining mages to prevent any escaping demons or just kill the abominations. If you try to kill the mages, Wynne steps in the way and you will have to kill her. Because she is bar none the best healer in the game and there is no comparable reward for siding otherwise your hands are really tied.
Also the whole morality system through party approval didn't mean jack because gift management meant you could get everyone's approval to 100 even without agreeing with them.

The last boss.
I thought that it was REALLY difficult. I was playing on Normal!

Maybe it's because I played it on the console.
Either that, or I'm just terrible at it.
Uh.... isn't the last boss supposed to be difficult? Or ideally supposed to be difficult? Or do you prefer a final boss like Lucien in Fable II?
NO! Lucien wasn't a boss fight. He was....garbage!

Yeah, the boss WAS supposed to be difficult, but I know someone (my brother) who beat it in 30 minutes on hard difficulty.

Still, I'd rather have a very difficult boss fight than a....Fable II "boss fight".
Ya the Archdemon is pretty easy if you have balistas, but if they all break and you have no rogue it can be a pain. Not exactly fun to shoot at it with a bow when you deal 20 damage a hit. Ya I didn't like the balancing above all else. I'd get to the Broodmother, who'd rape me over and over, then fight the Archdemon and not die once.

BTW, I was under the impression the final boss fight in Fable 2 was with that giant triangle thingy that spawns guys. Still is a sad excuse for a boss fight, but still, Lucian just seemed like revenge.
I found the Broodmother to be pretty easy, but that's just me.

Also: So, I'm the only one that took more than one hour to kill the Archdemon?

I...feel sad...

Well the first time I went through the Broodmother I was lvl 10, and I killed Wynn (whatever her name is), so Morrigan only had the basic heal spell. When I went to fight th Archdemon i was way more decked out and at lvl 20 he wasent to bad. Depends on the level you fight things I guess.

I assume every single poster in here played it on a console, because the controls on the PC are the worst I've seen in a very long while.
You Assume wrongly.

It was very dull and i didn't really dig the story. Charcacter create wasn't up to scratch either tbh. I also don't like mass effect...I'm very picky with my rpgs.
