We've all got that crush that we cannot bear to say.
However- this being an anonymous forum on the internet, I think we're safe to say who they are, and get it off of our chests.
Last names are not a requirement.

Anyways, mine is named Sarah.

Landry though I just found out he has a daughter so that might be a deal breaker right there.

I haven't really had a crush for some time. What baffles me however is the concept of having a crush. What differentiates having a crush and being in love with someone?

Val. But the complicated part is that he currently has a girlfriend and blah, it's a big mess and nothing will probably ever come from it in the end. But hey, he's everything I'd like in a guy, so I can still dream anyway.

My enemy's windpipe.

Oh! Crush as in "like", not crush as in "want to"...well, this is awkward.

It's really so subjective that it's impossible to really tell. I think it's whether you define it as a crush as opposed to being in love.

OT: I have no true crushes at the moment, but I suppose you could say I was interested in a couple of girls. I don't attend school at the moment for reasons that shall not be mentioned for the sake of not completely derailing the thread, so it's pretty meaningless as I don't really see any of them.

Shifawn. Girl next door, and my very first lesbian crush. And my very first sex dream.

John. I so wish I'd lost my virginity to him. Too bad he was Mormon.

Usually because you aren't actually in a relationship with the person. It's someone you like, but can't approach, for one reason or another.

Oh, I'd like to add two to my list.

Bob. Hot as fuck, and totally dating my best friend. Damnit!

Julie. Sexy, bisexual, and dating my (male) friend... until she cheated on him with my girlfriend at the time. Yeah.

The reason why I had inquired the definition of crush and compared it to love is to understand whether it applies to a mere attraction or if it has to be a stronger feeling toward them. This is because it is not uncommon for people to have an attraction toward many others based on their physical appearance. I personally could admire the physical beauty of various girls but I don't think I would consider this admiration as a crush. Frankly I'm confused on the whole notion and don't know how to constitute a crush, having not felt a strong attraction toward anyone for a long time to the point that I've pretty much forgotten how it feels.

I understand that it's subjective, but I was sort of hoping for a definition or an opinion discerning or comparing the two.

Mine is named Kevin. He said he liked me, I said I liked him, and we were fooling around for a bit in secret. I wasn't good enough in that respect, I guess, so he dumped me so that he could flirt with a blue-haired girl.

And yet I still like him.

Sucks.

Ok, thanks for clearing this up. Unfortunately for me it is because of various crushes I have had some time ago that I don't really trust anyone =/

'Blue'. First met her at Gamestation on the launch of Final Fantasy XIII. She stood out from the crowd of sweaty nerds...cute smile, beautiful everything, dressed as Lightning. Thought I'd never see her again, and now she's at my Uni, still with pink curly hair and awesome smile intact.

Sigh...

[sub]Don't tell my girlfriend. She'll hunt her down. And then come for me.[/sub]

My personal separation of the two would be that a crush is usually an attraction to someone when you don't really know a lot about the person. What you do know about them, you do like, but it's not driving you crazy that you aren't with them. It's just a casual attraction. And usually I would say it's not only based on looks; a crush implies that you're interested in dating someone and you like their personality as well.

Falling in love is usually something that happens after you get to know the person better, and probably after you are already in or already have been in a relationship with them. It's usually WAAAY more intense than a crush.
