Naming your pet after someone/something?

I got a male golden Labrador pup for Christmas and decided to name him Kelso. He is named after Dr. Bob Kelso from Scrubs and Michael Kelso from That 70's Show (two of my favorite tv shows)

So i was wondering forum what were some of your pets named after?

Oh and i also have a Gold fish called Toast, for no particular reason at all

My pets aren't named after anything at the moment. Although I plan on one day buying a Leongerger and naming him Squall.

Mine weren't named after anyone. We named ours according to how we thought they should be named. Maggie was named because she looked like a Maggie. Vicci was named partly because she looked like a Vicci, and because it was short for "vicious" which she wasn't at all.

I am going to get a hedgehog someday and name it Sonic. If I get a cat I am going to name it Kali or Crudus. Both of which are internet aliases of mine.

My family has a dog which we call Nim.
Short for Nimrod.

Troll is named that because he's loud and annoying for the sake of wanting attention (named for forum trolls everywhere) and Gabby, short for Gabriel, named after the cat in The Crow. After I found out it was a girl and not a boy switched her name to Gabrielle.

PS. both are cats.

If I had a pet, I'd definitely name him after something. I'm not a huge fan of just having some random name because it sounds cool, or naming things after a personality trait or something. I want to remember someone, so I'd probably name my pet Sovocles.

Monkey D. Luffy from One Piece. Damn, would be so epic!!!!

Would probably simply call him Luffy for short.

I name my pets more Human names. My current dog is named Henry William (Last name With Held). Henry was an agreement from what I wanted to call him "Harry" and whatever my brother wanted to call him (I think it was Teddy). I felt like he deserved the middle name William.

Pretty much every pet my family had when I was growing up was named after a Star Wars character. (Yoda, Wicket, Chewie, Bib and Lando)

If I ever have to get a cat, I'm naming him Shamisen. Just sounds like a guy who would kick your ass in a Scottish pub.

I named my golden retriever (like a labrador, but longer hair) Harry. I'm a pretty big fan of Harry Potter, it is an easy enough name to say, and being Irish and calling him after an English prince seemed funny at the time. My friend has a goldfish called Euro, though, and he's 8 years old. Freak.
