Slap whatever name you want on that monstrosity, I'm not interested, Microsoft - especially now that you've officially announced that it will cater heavily to the casual gamer crowd.
Really? You don't really need an official announcement to figure that out, right?
Eh, I had suspected something like this, but then again the technology has potential for some really good real (as opposed to casual) games, so I reserved judgement until now. I don't like to jump the gun before official facts are announced, but you are right, it was highly likely.

Hmm, I doubt I'll ever get a motion sensing console. I was soured on the whole concept after that Nintendo Power Glove fiasco. So as to the name, "Natal" makes me think of football whilst "Wave" makes me think of that disaster on wheels called the Pontiac Wave. Is Microsoft courting destruction with all the subtle grace of a syphillitic hooker?

At least Natal was a bit different to Move. Now Wave on one side and Move on the other.

"You know what would make this project really cool? If we call it something cool like the PS3 Move. Hmmm. Move. Mover. Over. Ove. Ave. Ve. Av. Cave. Save. Dave."
"Yeah?"
"No not you Dave, I was thinking of another name for Natal."
"Why?"
"Uh hello?"
"Yeah hi"
"G'dam Dave you're a genius. WAVE!"

And so it was born through marketing genius.
Haha. Reminded me of this scene. Marketing genius.

Well now it has a stupid name and an over $100 dollar price tag. I swear the more they tell us about this thing the more it seems like they don't want people to buy it.

How about, uh, no more Motion control gimmicks? How 'bout that? Because that's all they are, a gimmick. Like the Nintendo Power Glove and the Sega Activator, just gimmicks. They are NO substitution for a normal controller or a keyboard & mouse.

The only good thing to emerge with Motion Controls is Nintendo's rejuvenated coffers because I firmly support them as the last purely Video Game Company making hardware. I don't care much for the Wii's main library, but I love to use it to play TurboGrafx-16, Commodore 64 and other classic games... and my Gamecube games since they load a little faster on it (because it has a little more RAM than the GCN).

Microsoft Wave and PlayStation Move though... please, no more. I hope they're massive bombs. I'd prefer to see Microsoft take another look at the first Xbox's game library and see what other good third-party titles they can get sequels made for... like Deathrow and Gladius.

I just recently purchased a computer with respectable gaming chops so if my beloved 360 goes to shit with every game after the release of Natal-uh i mean 'wave' requiring it or something im not too bothered although i doubt it will. A couple of peripheral fable3 mini games, some microsoft fanboys desperately try and defend it to justify the hundred quid they wasted and then hopefully microsoft eat some humble pie and this stupid product will sink into obscurity. Hopefully.

I see what you did there. You got me to LOL hard, 1000 free internets for you good sir.

Honestly, there never been a game peripheral device that was successful in the marketplace with the exception of the Playstation Dual Shock, and that was only because Sony made it a standard instead of extra.

For Microsoft's Natal, Wave or what ever you call it to be successful three things must happen.

1. Make the Natal standard on new games with out punishing players who do not own one. Meaning all new most new games that will be supporting it, has control alternatives such as the normal Xbox 360 Controller. Don't force the natal on every new game, like Nintendo tried with the stylus on DS games.

2. For the Natal to deliver (performance wise) what it promised to do. Unlike the Nintendo Wii-mote which years later had to toss in a stupid add-on to deliver what thee Wii-mote was supposed to do in the first place.

3. Offer an game or a collection of games with the natal that allows users to experience the device right away. Like how the NES Zapper comes with a copy of Duck Hunt, The Wii had Wii Sports ect.... Something that would be fun to play yet be family friendly.

I thought Natal was fine. Wave just sounds silly. Oh well I won't be buying it anytime soon at that pricetag. I'm not one of those people that buy new hardware as soon as it comes out anyways. I wait for reviews and see what the problems with it are, and if I can live with those. problems.

Ah, codenames are always are better than real names.

Except maybe Dolphin.
True, I though that any name would be better that "Revolution"
Then they went ahead and called it the "Wii"
