I was riding to work one morning on my old GpZ500 when I pulled up at a roundabout. The 54 seater coach in the traffic behind me decided that it was time to go........so he went.

He drove up my right hand side and turned left, hitting the rear of the bike and causing it to topple over, trapping me between my petrol tank and halfway down the side of the coach. I was dragged for about 20 yards until he straightened up. There was no more pressure to drag me along, but I was still trapped.........and the rear wheels were catching me up.

I managed to pull my head and body out the way, but not my legs. I remember reading the weight on the side of the coach, just before it drove over me, 10595kg (23357lbs).

I didn't break a single bone. Always wear leathers and armour

*shrugs* possibly. I've had people going too fast in cars and nearly running me over, that's probably the closest thing.
Yeah, its a shame that usually happens to me on a daily basis too. Damn soccer moms driving SUVs.

I was at the swimming pool and the wave machine got turned on. I had rather stupidly gotten my foot trapped in this little semi circle indent than went all the way round the pool. I almost drowned. Luckily, the waves forced my foot free and i live :D. I dont go swimming anymore though

Had about a 2 ton dead tree almost crush myself and a friend. For some inexplicable reason we saw this tree and thought you know what? Lets kick this fucker down, there were 3 of us, the base was rotted, the tree was ready to fall naturally but, for some reason we decided to aid the process. One, Two, Three, Kick! Repeat a few times. We hear a loud crack, it starts to fall, at this point the entire tree is coming straight down towards one of my friends and I. We dive to the side, tree lands about 3 feet away from me and we call it quits for the day and go inside. I don't know what the hell possessed us to do that but it wasn't a good idea.

I was on a bus and it hit a tree. I snapped my leg clean in two and had the bones popping out, had a broken nose, looked down, and saw that a piece of fiberglass from the front had slit my side. Not deep, just a small slit. Sitting only 2-3 inches across would have resulted in a skewered liver and a punctured lung

It would have to be the time I was nearly knocked off a motorbike.
That was fun.

When I was young, I had had a fever for days, dispite my mother's painstaking and dilligent care. I was so dehydrated, I was literally yellow, and was hallucinating. I had a fever of over 104 farenheit, too...
I had to go to the hospital, and got better after an IV for fluids.

Hmm, I've nearly drowned a few times. Once when I fell into this ditch (it was deep!) and my legs didn't reach the bottom. I got rescued by my older brother who caught my jacket and pulled me up. Second time (or 3rd or 4th, I can't remember) was when me and my brother were swimming in the river next to my home. I swam beside him when he was floating on this air mattress, then I suddenly realized we're in the middle of the river and I paniced -> almost drowned. However I was yet again saved by my brother when I grabbed the air mattress and he swam us closer to the beach. :3

Gotta luv my big bro

Yeah I've had a couple. All of them involving my bold ignorance to the dangers of ice. The most impressive of these stories being when I was in an avalanche and I ended up falling off a 30-40 ft. cliff on Angel Glacier on Mt. Edith Cavel in Jasper National Park. The less impressive ones are mostly about me fucking around on giant ice flows on the river I live very near. Its a lot of fun.
I know it sounds ridiculous but its what happened.

I was at my aunts, i was around 6 years old (so remembering this is weird anyway) i think i was drowning but... all i remember is walking at the bottom of the pool, i don't think i was breathing, but it didn't hurt for some reason. i saw my dad dive in, everything rushed past (my dad could NOT have been that fast) and the next moment i knew i was crying by the side of the pool. i asked my dad about it and he said he only realized i was underwater was because he couldn't hear me for a few minutes. A FEW MINUTES. i cant hold my breath that long at my age. i know this sounds stupid but, i DO remember this.

writing this makes me miss my dad, my parents broke up awhile ago :(

... pool party and i was in the part of the pool that barely covered me, i can fairly float and swim. A friend of mine, wich had a few beers, came and hugged me so i sank and stood on the bottom of the pool with the water covering me. He's taller than i am so he didn't noticed. I started to struggle traying to punch and pinch him but under water you cant barely punch. I remember I tought, "This is it, this is as far as im going to make it." the moment a tought this my friend, miraculously/coincidentailly, let me go and went some other place. As I could I swimmed to the pool's edge swallowing water and all. After i recovered i looked around and realized that no one even noticed.
My near death experience was at a pool as well. My brother decided it would be funny to convince (or pushed, I can't really see) a kid onto my back while I was swimming. The kid clung on to me and dragged me under, as my brother stood by watching for about 5 minutes. If he had even made a noise, there are at least 5 or 6 adults within earshot. But I guess he was either too young, or simply doesn't care.
In hindsight, he probably cared.. because he threw out one of those blown-up toy for me to grab onto. Except he missed me by about 5 or 6 meters.. which is a huge distance, considering the pool was less than 10 meters across. He was never really a good thrower.

And I guess it's not a near death experience, but I almost moved to V-Tech right before the shooting...to the department that the shooting happened in. So I guess it was a relatively close call.

I nearly drowned, once.

I've had plenty of bad things happen to me, but that's about the only time I felt like I was going to die.

On a similar note, large dogs have large teeth.
It's a fact.
MAX! I didnt recognise you with the new pic. /hug.

My Near death experiance was at Centre parcs (no typo) - Landing pool, I stuck too the bottom due too water pressure. And the lifegaurd was too busy checking out the "talent" too notice. ¬¬

Happened when I worked for Target. Wile unloading the trucks, one of the genius leads was lifting a pallet of flat screen TVs on a single plastic pallet. For those of you that have never worked the logistics end of retail, pallets are usually wooden. On the rare occasion you're forced to use the shitty plastic ones, you at least double up. Well, about 30-40 feet up, the pallet breaks and the TVs land at most a foot from where I'm standing. Said TVs went on sale for $79.99.

Oh, just remembered another one! When I was about 9, my sister (around 12 at this time) found some rope and got the idea of making a noose, then proceeded to tie said noose on the biggest tree on the block. I then had the bright idea of sticking my head in the noose. Uneven recycling bin + sandals with no traction + gravity = you get the idea. Fortunately for me, one of our neighbors happened to catch a glimpse of this fiasco and cut me down. Turns out the guy was a former Hell's Angel.

Yeah, good times.
