Near death experience?

Attempted strangulation (self-inflicted), Attempted crushing/asphyxiation (parent-inflicted), Attempted cutting of the throat (8-year-old inflicted), Attempted bludgeoning (brother-inflicted), Attempted inserting of a gun into my mouth (inflicted by nobody in partcular), Massive concussion, minor brain damage, blood loss (bike track inflicted), Attempted stomping (local serial killer inflicted).

Couple of people tried to drown me when I was a little kid. My mother was there, but she wasn't paying attention.

Had a gun pulled on me once.

Wait, what? How old were you, and how far away were your mom? If you were like 4-7 years old, your mother needs to learn how to take care of you better. No offense, but if a mother can't notice that her child is about to die, something has gone wrong. I mean if it seems to a start that they're playing, it's okay, but if they held you like 3 to 1 with your head under the water, your mother got some problems. Again, no offense. I may be wrong, and she may be in fact a great mother, and I've blown this out of proportion. You tell me.

I once was stabbed with a butcher knife in my liver(my fault) and another time i think a Car hit me off my bike. I dont remember, the concussion blocked most of it out.

I nearly get knocked down about three times a day XD I blame the iPod >_>
My sister tried drowning me.
I was pushed off those boulders in Otley I think that are shaped like pans, armchairs and Yorkshire puddings xD
My nephews tried to kill me once... Setting fire to the house didn't work so I think they tried to drown me instead xD bless them.
And it sounds silly but panic attacks at night, once I thought I was going to die, it was the most awful experience ever.

When I was about one and a half I walked ito the middle of the street. No one stopped me becuase my mother went into our house for a few seconds, in that short time period I managed to walk across a driveway, traversed a steep little roadway, and sit right in the middle of traffic.


I also had menengitis when I was a few weeks old.

Anyways, I've had a couple close calls like in accidents and such. But it usually happens so fast you don't really have time to think about it. Me and my friends did get a gun pulled on us once by some little wannabe wigger gangbanger. It was the only time I actually thought "Uh oh, this could get terrible." But it worked out in the end, the dude that lived in the house we were at came out with a pump 12 gauge and fired a shot near the little wiggers feet then aimed it at him. Needless to say it was probably one of the most intense moments I have ever been in.

Let's see, almost drowning as a little kid, I fell into a pool, realized I couldn't swim and started to panic. Thankfully my sister pulled me out, annoyingly, she pulled me out by grabbing my hair.

My Near death experiance was at Centre parcs (no typo) - Landing pool, I stuck too the bottom due too water pressure. And the lifegaurd was too busy checking out the "talent" too notice. ¬¬

I've had a couple.

I almost died while being born. My mom was really sick too and both of us were in the hospital for a couple weeks before coming home. Needless to say I made it ok and she did as well.

My appendix burst when I was in 4th grade. Bad few weeks afterward and had anything severe happened to me, my mom was threatening to sue the doctor because I had just been in there THAT MORNING to test for what we already thought was appendicitis and the doctor said "Oh he's just got a stomach bug." Bastard.

Not really a near "death" experience, but I was working at Gamestop two summers ago and was robbed at gunpoint. Scariest moment of my life.

Ya, um, one time, I couldn't breath in one of my dreams, and I woke up to find that I was sleeping face down on my pillow.

I was taking a walk on this dirt cliff thing and tripped and was sliding down head first and suddenly stopped because my foot was caught on a root. I turned around only to see a sharp ass rock very close to stabbing through my head. Tree roots are the best thing ever now.

Once I was messing around with my brother on an iced over river. We were just standing there and heard a crack looked down and saw that the whole river was starting to crack and we started running like crazy. He ran in front of me and got onto land while the river was breaking open behind me ( note there was a waterfall behind us ) and made a leap of faith hoping to live. I felt water beneath me but only my feet and looked up and my brother had got my hand before I went down the waterfall. scariest thing ever

I don't really have any near death experiences. The closest thing I've got is that I received a surgery that most people don't survive. Of course, I was way too drugged out to have an experience from it.

Wait, there was that one time where my head busted open and bled a good bit. That sucked a bit much.

Many people enjoy drowning or suicide in this thread. The water-peril stories are interesting, the suicide ones are plain stupid. No one gets E-points for stabbing themselves on purpose.

I died once - I don't remember it. Woke up with a mass of tubes and all sorts of good things in my face and chest. Blanked out. Woke up again, I was told two months after that. Jaw wired shut, couldn't see anything out of my left eye, huge scars, all sorts of interest.

I suffered some horrible agony since then in surgeries, but none that really killed me. Oh, except the staff infection under my eye, but a good non-numbed needle to my tear duct for 30 seconds did that justice for about two weeks; Surgery solved the problem fully.


This spring I was bed ridden for a few weeks with one serious cough. It required a trip to the hospital. I wouldn't say it was near death. I simply could not breath.

A gang!? Don't insult me man/woman... its not nice to insult people. No just one of my daily knife fights. They're great exercise and have helped me build up a tolerance to pain. She just went too deep that time.
