Need a bit of help in Fable II

Hi, I've been playing Fable II for quite some time after I rented it, and for the vast majority of the time, everything's working, but there's one minor glitch that's been very annoying and I just wanted to ask if anyone knew of a solution to this.

The problem is, in-game, I recieved an Assassination contract, targeting a ship captain, and I thought, 'well, that sounds easy enough' when I read it, but in actuality, when I went to the ship captain, I learned of his total invinciblity.

I'm not kidding. Charged up level-four spells do squat. Whacking him a thousand times with my weapon(s) has no effect. I can't push him into the water, and attempts at using Chaos to get regular villagers to shoot him full of holes have failed miserably.

I even tried getting the captain to follow me to the Temple of Shadows so I could sacrifice his worthless ass, but every hour of every day, no matter what time, regardless of how much he likes me or hates me, he says 'Sorry, I'm busy' and I can't do it.


My question is this- is there a way to actually kill/sacrifice this guy, or alternatively cancel the Asassination quest and recieve a new one? Thanks in advance, and I await your responses.

I thought I knew Fable 2 pretty well but I honestly can't remember anything about this mission sorry I can't be more help

I'm guessing this captain is in Bloodstone, the one you talk to to get a ride back to the rest of the world? There's normally a time limit on these missions, so try just waiting it out.

The Ship Captain is in either Bloodstone or Bowerstone, don't remember the name, but I got the mission from Mr. Blank (he travels around a lot, so I can't give you a general location other than in Bloodstone) from the Society, and it's an official assassination mission. I even got a contract that's supposed to help me kill the bugger.

I never tried the assassin missions, so I couldn't say. Check to see if theirs some special way to kill them though.

No- whenever I take these Assassination quests there are stipulations like, 'kill this guy at night' or 'someone must witness your work', but you can kill the targets and break some of the stipulations in the process whenever you want, you'll just get paid less for it.

Believe me, my problem here isn't lack of trying. I've tried cold-blooded murder, magical doom, pushing him in the water, the works. Not sure what to do next.

Are you sure you've turned Safety Mode off? That's the only thing I could think of.

Or it could be the fact that this is simply a bug filled game. I had two missions that were impossible to complete for different reasons. I had to reload to an earlier point and do them again. The worked the second time while I did the exact same thing both times. There are also countless graphical glitches. Fable 2 is one of the buggiest games I've seen for a console.

Yes, I am absolutely positive the safety is off. Hell, how could I even HIT him with the sword if the safety was off?

How does getting people drunk work in this game, exactly, and if I did get him drunk, would he agree to follow me to his DOOMY DOOM OF DOOM in the lovely Temple of Shadows?

Can't bring him anywhere. Tried for hours but he WON'T follow me. He either can't or won't because I've tried everything.

I was just joking dont worry! Google it... wikipedia is usually good for bug fixes. It is for Bethesda games at least.

Tried googling it too, but got mixed results.

No monsters are anywhere near Bloodstone, and summoning hobbes or whatever with Raise Dead won't affect him.

He can't be pushed into the water, so that's not an option.

He can't or won't follow me, no matter what time of the day it is, and yes, my safety's off. So I'm at a bit of a loss.

If I got him drunk would he follow me? How would I even go about doing that?

Positive, safety's off, mission is still 'available', I have the contract, and I tried to get him to like me but even then he wouldn't follow me.
